"American Leaders Uphold The Constitution Because They Know If They Didn't
They'd Be Finished"

--Chris Mathews on his show this morning.

What do you think? True?

I wish I believed it. The Patriot Act was a direct attack on the Constitution.

Are they finished? Or are they more powerful than ever?

Jesus Mathews! I knew there was a reason I stopped watching your show!

1. There have been plenty of attacks on the Constitution
Joe McCarthy comes to mind, and i'm sure others here that know history better can tell us of others - wasn't the Spanish American War pretty much a media invention? The difference is that in the 50s and earlier, the media was much less compliant than it is now.

3. LOL!
The Repugs do better politically when they are attacking the Constitution. Matthew's is a corporate media propagandist who says bullshit like that to keep the sheeple happy.

4. Also to set up the need for the
Constitution Restoration Act.

`Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the Supreme Court shall not have jurisdiction to review, by appeal, writ of certiorari, or otherwise, any matter to the extent that relief is sought against an entity of Federal, State, or local government, or against an officer or agent of Federal, State, or local government (whether or not acting in official or personal capacity), concerning that entity's, officer's, or agent's acknowledgment of God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government.'.

I can't believe I've polluted my clipboard with that tripe.
