I won't even say freepers because I'm hearing it from the working poor whom I'm sure they don't have a clue what is going on.

“Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it”.

Our government doesn't deserve it.

52. My exact thought - the Mark Twain quote.
People really need to be weaned away from this thought that criticizing the government is unpatriotic. The country and the government are two separate entities; the country will still be here after whoever is in charge is gone.

22. Give them an American history lesson.
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 02:20 PM by davsand
This nation was founded by political dissidents. A thriving democracy demands involvement in the process, including dissent when appropriate. It is an abdication of my responsibility as an American citizen to sit by quietly when I disagree with governmental policies.

Too many of our men and women have died in defense of the ideal of Democracy for me to abandon my responsibility to speak out when things are wrong.

Nothing makes me happier than to be more "American" than the right wingers. I find the historical view shuts up all but the most rabid--and you don't need to piss away your time with them anyhow...

37. "WE LOVE AMERICA ENOUGH TO RESCUE HER from you assholes"
Edited on Sun Apr-17-05 04:45 PM by burn the bush
that are destroying her.

That's not to you, but to them.

For "GET A LIFE" You say "I'm fighting for it right now." Or "Speaking of get a life-did u know that almost 1600 of our military have lost their lives in Bush's illegal war? Did you know that up to 100,000 innocent Iraqi men women and children have lost their lives in Bush's illegal war?

Did you know that tens of thousands of our soldiers are permanently and severly disabled from Bush's illegal war?

Get a life? Buddy I got a life, fighting against idiots like you who think God wants them to take anothers life for Him.

You Get a life. Or take one, enlist."

And for when they start to chant "USA...USA" Like they are the ones who love her, then you start chanting "USA USA USA..." Back at them even louder because you are the one that really loves America. Loves her enough to take her back.

on edit: Let's not forget when they give you the bg "L" across the forehead for Loser. "Loser? The American people are the losers while that asshole is squatting in our White House. Yeah, we're losers buddy, we're all losers. But that's gonna change"

The pre-civil war map is almost identical to the red/blue map of today. The problem is getting worse and I see no way to fix it. We just belive differently than 'they' do. So lets put all of us out of our misery and make two countries. I'll miss Yellowstone but we all have our 'crosses' to bear'
