This is funny...Zoo wants chimp to kick smoking habit
Charlie, a grown male chimp and the Bloemfontein Zoo, has been picking up cigarettes thrown to him by visitors and smoking them — a habit he probably picked up by observing humans, zoo officials told the SAPA news agency on Thursday.

"Baby chimps pick up habits by mimicking adults and we think he started mimicking smokers at his enclosure which probably led to smokers throwing him cigarettes," spokesman Daryl Barnes told SAPA.

4. In Europe, a lot of people still smoke.
Probably the only way Americans are more advanced. Come to think of it, if you get off the coasts and outside the big cities, there's a lot of tobacco abuse here too, particularly in the Red states.

If people want to smoke outdoors, I wouldn't try to stop them.

Poor chimp - he's going to need the patch. Helped me quit. Glad I don't have to give up all my vices.

:smoke: :bounce:

5. Zoos have a responsibility to protect the health of these animals...
Thus, they have EVERY right to ban smoking, outside or not. And, even Europeans are starting to give up smoking (and increasingly, city smoking ordinances do include outside in the vacinity of public buildings, restaurants, ballparks, etc.)
