What if they gave a candidate bashing thread and nobody came?
You know the posts I'm talking about; not just the ones that are blatant bashing, but the ones thinly disguised so as to appear to be legitimate queries. I think of the latter as the faux news approach.
It's all to easy to get sucked into these threads, and almost nothing productive comes from them. Remember Skinner's attack free thread posted earlier this week? Didn't that provide a more substantive and satisfying forum? It's ironic that we who pride ourselves on our tolerance and liberal ideals so often devolve into dishonesty and mudslinging.

1. Amen
and pass the collection plate! B-) I wish we could all just agree to present issues from whatever candidate we support and leave it at that. The "Politics and Campaign" room is replete with these flamewars at the moment. Please remember we're going to NEED each other once the candidate has been determined.

Where's my blackjack?
My billy club?
Nope...non-basher here.
There is one thing repug that I am happy to adopt; their 11th Commandment:
Thou shalt speak no ill of Democratic candidates.
Whoever winds up with the "D" next to the name gets my vote.
Color me yella dawg.

OK, clar, the next time you want to post a unity thread, you might include something with the word "Nader," "Greens," or "Candidate X will be the destruction of the Democratic Party." You'll get LOTS of responses. ;-)

4. funny and sad and true
Hey, I thought it was a pretty catchy little caption. Nope. People aren't too interested in civil discussion and unity. How could I have captioned it to get more folks into the tent? Guess I'd be a lousy carny barker.
