"Foxidation"
William Raspberry in the WP:

The in-your-face right-wing partisanship that marks Fox News Channel's news broadcasts is having two dangerous effects.

The first is that the popularity of the approach -- Fox is clobbering its direct competition (CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, etc.) -- leads other cable broadcasters to mimic it, which in turn debases the quality of the news available to that segment of the TV audience.

The second, far more dangerous, effect is that it threatens to destroy public confidence in all news.

1. That's sort of the point
The right wing wants us to evalute news not on whether or not it is true or makes sense or is reasonable, but on the grounds of whether or not it fits a certain Ideology.

2. Conservatives care not
about facts but about beliefs. They do not want their children to be exposed to knowledge which might have those children question their beliefs. A sad and pathetic way to live. Its just so sad they live in this country. Would they not be happier in a country where facts are irrelevant and beliefs rule?

5. Of course
And that's their idealogy. Never mind if it's wrong or not.

3. On "clobbering CNN, MSNBC, and CNBC...
Edited on Mon Apr-18-05 01:38 PM by in_cog_ni_to
I have emailed the head of CNN 3 times to explain to him HOW he can bring his ratings up higher than FAUX NEWS. They should cater to the Dem Party since we ARE the majority in this country. I would watch if they did that. I watch now ONLY when hubby has it on. :puke: Of course CNN never took my advice and they're still in the toilet. They will NEVER pull the sheeple away from FAUX NEWS. They're too brainwashed, so why continue to try?

I know, I know....it's what their corporation wants. :(

Does FAUX NEWS still use the slogan..."Fair and Balanced?" We all know they aren't and so do they.

4. I don't care about the future of news.
It deserves to go down in flames if this is how it will be.
