My letter to TIME magazine... |
|
Dear Time Magazine,
I am writing to thank you for the cover story featuring alleged "journalist" Ann Coulter and reminding me what a wise decision it was not to renew my subscription to your magazine. Keep up the good work, my money is being spent wisely elsewhere.
Sincerely yours,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

10. Hey make it easy-give me their address |
|
I will copy your letter and get it in the mail pronto. We used to have Time then went to Newsweek and now find them all a joke.
I recently let a Newsweek subscribtion elapse. But not before they mangaged to let it go two issues long-both POPE covers-oh praise Jesus. Acutally, I don't think Jesus would be praising the pope for anything-but that's another thread.
Apparently the POPE is the only story of interest for not one-but two weeks. And what the hell has Coulter done to deserve a cover?
As I pointed out to my husband-M Moore had a hit movie.
O'Lielly and his ilk have a hit TV shows. But this hackette has done nothing and has no popularity. She is hate eptiomized. I guess that's their point heh? Hate-okay when the right wing do it.

Dear Time: If we were thinking of ever renewing our membership to Time, your choice of the hate-spewing, unaccomplished Ann Coulter on your cover has made that an easy decision. Not in this century. Hate is not fashionable, no matter how you think the "majority" are voting. Sincerely, Ms housewife with a brain(oh I signed my real name)

Advocate Murdering Liberals, Get a Time Cover.
Appropos of its 10-year anniversary, here's the famous Coulter quote after the Oklahoma City bombing. "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building." New, the New York Times is not "liberal," but to extremist crank Coulter it is. What, you needed to stir up a controversy to sell magazines or something? This woman is clearly a liar, clearly a partisan hack, clearly does not deserve being taken seriously. And yet there she is, splashed on the cover of your pathetic joke of a magazine. I've thought for years that the corporate media is a joke in this country -- bought and paid for shills for the Republican Party. Thank you so much for confirming that for me. With ever consistent disgust,

16. Here's my letter . . . . |
|
As a resident of Oklahoma City, I am writing to express my disgust at your choice for cover story for April 19, 2005. Your feature on Ann Coulter might as well have been a puff piece on Timothy McVeigh based on your view that “On TV or in person, you can trust that Coulter will speak from her heart.” Well, these statements reflect Ms. Coulter's heart:
“My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building.” (Ann Coulter as quoted in the New York Observer, Aug. 20, 2002)
RE: McVeigh quote: “Of course I regret it. I should have added, after everyone had left the building except the editors and reporters.” (from an interview with Right Wing News)
Ms. Coulter’s heart contains nothing but vile hatred for anyone who does not share her extreme views. In turn, she turns these statements into “entertainment” for extremists. Advocating violence and murder makes her no better than Timothy McVeigh. Until we recognize that people like Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Rush Limbaugh, and Shawn Hannity are doing nothing but dividing us with their extremist views, we are doomed to the destruction of our country.
On this day of all days, this was an extremely poor choice as well as an insult to the people of Oklahoma City and the state of Oklahoma, especially for the survivors and those who lost family and friends in the Murrah Building. I think Time Magazine should apologize.
----
Believe me, I am beyond pissed (and yes, I used the word extreme and extremist too much, but that's how I feel.)

In all my days reading your magazine, I never dreamed such a divisive, lunatic raving, self-anointed, ill-informed political hack would grace the cover. Congratulations, your standards have reached a new low! Adios.

19. I read the Time article on Coulter |
|
I thought that it showed her for wing nut clown that she is. I thought that Time did good job showing Coulter for what she is. Putting her on the cover just more attention to the article, which is a good thing. I know that is a minority opinion but that's my view.
