3. Take back a majority in either house of Congress
Or even both houses.

That will fix the problem either way.

The only way to "beat" it in the short run is through diplomacy and creative legislative politics.

5. No we CANT win
Because even if there is a TIE, all Cheney has to do is vote to BREAK the tie.

8. Then 52 Senators will do the job
There's no way around the need to regain control of at least one house.

15. Who the hell is saying ...
'We win if the GOP uses the Nuclear Option' ? ...

Why are you ranting and raving about 'winning' when we are the minority in congress ? ..

There is no 'winning' regarding this question ... we can only lose as citizens ....

Get a grip of yourself ....

4. I so hate
the term "nuclear" option.
I hope it does not portend things to come. in this day and age it is a bit too close to realm of possibility.
Sometimes words have a way of finding their way into reality - I would hope someone can come up with a better term.

14. We say "nuclear option", the theocrats say "constitutional option."
I think we won the framing war this time.

13. We can only win if enough republicans
understand representative democracy. So far, some do. Thomas Jefferson wanted to do much the same concerning judges but his party, even though they had the numbers, voted against his wishes to preserve that concept. The same when FDR had the numbers, the democrats had the better understanding as to not go a similar route. We have to hope there are enough republicans that understand this tradition of denying the ultimate power grab to preserve representative democracy.
