With Mother's Day approaching, it delights me to see so many GOOD mothers |
|
and I'm happy to be married to one and the son of one.
It's too easy to get fixated on morbid rarities like Susan Smith that one ignores the many cases of good mothering one witnesses first-hand every day.

There are, thankfully, MORE good than bad.. The only reason I started the other thread was that DU is a news-driven site, and the child-killing news is pretty powerful these days ...and as a way to try to get more of us to help a struggling mother when we see one..and to mentor the NEXT crop of mothers:)

it's alot easier to fixate on the bad than the good.. Like I said in the other thread, it's a hell of a job raising honest kids in a dishonest world, I thank my wife and all you moms out there, without you, we ain't shit... :toast:

Here's to the mothers of every person who has ever fought injustice, of every person who dedicates their lives to helping others, of every person who gives of their time, money, and/or heart to make this world a better place.
Without these moms, we couldn't have our heroes. Thank you.

Being a mother is the most important aspect of my life! I, like so many mothers, would go to the ends of the earth for my kids. Nothing compares to seeing my children happy and healthy. :loveya:
I'm fortunate that I have a supportive husband, which makes being parent so much easier and allows me to have more time to enjoy being a mother.
My hat really goes off to all of the single moms out there that are doing such a commendable job raising their kids!
