Those questioning the past history of the Pope
How many of you drive a VW, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Porsche?
All are German auto manufactures and all were involved with transportation and/or arms and war production during WW II. But you knew that and it's OK, right? From what I can tell reading post after post of blind ignorance, the majority of DUer's need to learn a little about German history leading up to the war before they start condemning the man for his past.

2. There's a bit of a difference between a car
and a person who is an ambassader for 1.1 billion people

4. There's a weeeee bit of difference between
a german car company and a real-life nazi...who now is in charge of a "religion" that never bothered to condemn the nazi war crimes in the first place. Maybe the church condemned Audi and VW, I don't know.

Oh wait, I forgot to go learn more history...

6. So it's OK
To drive a German car from a manufacturer that was part of the Nazi war machine in WW II but you have a problem with a man forced to join the Hitler Youth at 14? Hummm. Yep, you better learn a little more history.

7. Good reply.
I don't understand. Is IMSA defending the actions of a 14 year old? I mean, I believe that is the age of consent, and we are responsible for our actions at that age. Or am I wrong?

8. I've never drove any of those cars and never will.
I know German history pretty well. I still condemn the man for his past and his present. There goes any chance of women having any real role in the Catholic Church. I was raised Catholic and turned away from it when Pope John Paul came on the scene because as a liberal journalist once said "Pope Paul visited the United States, kissed the ground and stepped on the women." Didn't Saint Malachi say this Pope would be the Antichrist?

10. Not me. How about all the condemnation of Bush's grandpa
working with Hitler? He got his businesses taken from him in the Trading with the Enemies act. Bush's family fortune which he lives on now was made from slave labor at Auschwitz. What about that? Do we let that go? Do we condemn it? Do I have to read more about "German history leading up to the war before they start condemning the man for his past." or is this a 'different' category?
