Remember Godwin's Law (yes, Pope related)
Basically Godwins Law is that in an argument, when one person brings up Nazism to further their argument, they've pretty much lost. Having to invoke the most evil regime in recent memory to villify, signify or designate as being on the same level as Hitler is a last ditch effort to put someone on the defensive.

There are other things to attack this pope on if you want to, many of which the previous pope also believed, but somehting a 14 year old boy did in the middle of wartime germany is, in my mind, irrelevant.

Sure there are other significant 14 year olds who "done good" in horrific situations, and there are adults who have committed crimes only to make amends later in life. To look at any one portion of someones life and not take into account the whole is a poor way to look at things I think.
