Liberalism is a Mental Disorder: Savage Solutions
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1595550062/qid=1114026325/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/103-3359262-8975012

What a douchebag. I have no problem with people having differing views on political matters. But at what point do you need more than just shock to get published, aired, invited on tv, etc. People like Dr. Weiner and Ann Coulter are not bright, they don't have anything interesting or well-reasoned to say, they are just famous for being crazy. Enough is enough!

1. Savage is a first-class nutjob
Right up there with Coulter and Limpballs. If possible, he's even worse.

5. I think Savage is even worse. He takes the right-wing...
vitriol to a whole new level.
"Nutjob" only begins to describe him.

2. I find it highly ironic
that you are saying that Ann Coulter is famous for being crazy, and yet you are arguing against the premise that being liberal is a mental disorder.

Ahem.

13. Not following you here.
Saying that people have a mental disorder because they value human rights, civil liberties, and social justice IS NOT THE SAME as being a right-wing nutjob who advocates life imprisonment of ACLU members, building a wall around the country, and wishing for the death of people with AIDS.

18. True.
It is just their version of the truth. We see their truth as wrong. They see our truth as wrong. We argue who is more righteous.

They argue we have a mental defect. We are convinced that they do.

It is fun theater.

20. The difference is that most of us aren't actually wishing them harm,
whereas both Weiner and Coulter have said plenty of things indicating that they wish it was permitted to just kill us. To wit, Coulter's crack about the OKC bombing "the only thing I regret is that they didn't go to the New York Times building", etc., ad nauseum.

There's a big difference between not liking someone's political views and actually wishing them dead - and SAYING so, repeatedly, in print and in person.

7. A common tactic of tyrannical regimes
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 03:11 PM by Taxloss
is to "diagnose" their internal critics as suffering from a mental illness and then lock them up in "hospital".

The Nazis, Bolsheviks, Maoists and Khmer Rouge all did this.

How to make frog soup, eh.

ON EDIT: I am reminded of this:

conservatism a mental illness, though.

Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 04:28 PM by jdj
or is it kind of like "anti-americanism" which I once heard someone refer to as "'anti-america' without the unnecessary trappings of syntax and grammar".
