"A Time for Disobedience"
"A Time for Disobedience"
by Sydney H. Schanberg
April 19th, 2005 10:24 AM

"The press is now looking squarely at a perversion of government. The administration of George W. Bush has raised secrecy and information control to a level never before seen in Washington.

The falsehoods about weapons of mass destruction that gave the White House the public support to wage war in Iraq may be the most vivid example of the perversion, but the practice permeates all corners of the Bush government.

The press has been grappling with how to cope with this extreme control and distortion of news, some reporters and editors more than others. One possibility they might consider is civil resistance, as in quiet, nonviolent, respectful rebellion."

"
In a jokey mood, he at times made light of the issue and drew some laughter. At another point, he contended that all his secrecy policies were made necessary to keep from "jeopardizing the war on terror," in order not to "put somebody's life at risk." This was about as bald a falsehood as any president could tell.

Keep unemployment exactly where the people won't be calling for their heads, make sure there is no draft... to keep the waiting people from uniting, distracting & focusing on silly news stories, while enticing us and the more than willing lap-dog corporate media to convince, distort and sedate us...Hide, lie, smear and distort are their real goals and ideology, with no explanation necessary (to us, the people whose taxes pay for it ALL).

Lame-duck or not...They will make it appear (with their owned controlled "news gatherings" forces) that most of the people are behind them...

All it takes is about 10% of the sheep to make noise, to make it seem like they are the majority and yes indeed, this is what we all want, and they do it most effectively.

Rove's objective, complete corporate privatizing fascism, and its full speed ahead...

Are my observations incorrect? Can we stop them?
