Malloy mentioned a site for Christians:
Clergy and Laity Network United for Justice

I thought this might be of interest to Christian DUers. Maybe you already know all about it. :)

Enjoy.

4. Great! More good sites, please!
Another site I've enjoyed: Liberals Like Christ

I've enjoyed conversations with the website proprietor, Ray Dubuque. I've heard one Catholic complain that the site is anti-catholic, but I haven't read anything that led me to the same conclusion. Of course, I have not read the whole site.

I'm an atheist and I stand by my opinion that atheists, agnostics, pagans and Christians need to join hands and stand up for freedom. I pledge to try very hard to be respectful of religious folks here on DU. Furthermore, I recognize that we are all needed in this fight against right-wing fanaticism. I may not always agree with you, but I will stand with you against right-wing fanaticism.

10. hey that was really great to read. i thank you for this kindness
its been weighing on my heart that we are not working together on this as you point out. there have been multiple threads concerning du becoming a religious "nightmare" and this kind of division does reach in deep where i live

so thank you very much. you are clearly open in such a deeply human and beautiful way. and i dont mean youre open to religion because that is a purely private matter and not my place to suggest or want anything for you but love. rather i mean you are open in a comprehensive soulful way that is what i like to think this board represents (at its best)

it sounds wonderful and i hope to be any part of the solution you speak of

peace and love jude

8. Social Justice Sunday
Thanks for posting this. If you visit the site, it has details about Social Justice Sunday, which is also getting front page coverage at the Majority Report blog and Daily Kos...

Social Justice Sunday
#
WHAT: Social Justice Sunday - Faith and Freedom Vigil
#
WHEN: 2:30 pm, April 24, 2005
#
WHERE: Central Presbyterian Church
318 W. Kentucky St. Louisville, Kentucky
#
CONTACT: Clergy and Laity Network and DriveDemocracy

Progressive Religious Communities, our leaders and our community friends are gathering to witness:

OUR OUTRAGE over the attempt by the Family Research Council and its radical Christian Right colleagues to highjack the judicial selection process for their politiclal/theocratic agenda

OUR DISMAY Senate Majority Leader, Senator Bill Frist, is lending his name and influence to the Family Research Council's claim of universal support from "people of faith" for its strategy, thereby giving false religious credentials to a thinly veiled political agenda

OUR POSITIVE COMMITMENT to defend and strengthen our social context in its commitment to fairness for all people, free of biased religious doctrines and prejudiced attitudes which are inimical to a mature religious understanding of the standards of inclusiveness and justice in American life
