Who in his right mind could like this puke of a president
for the life of me I can't believe there is enough people who like him in the US to allow him to continue to trample on what took so long to build. Who are these people I ask. He has done more damage to our way of life than anyone ever. Yours and my kids and grandkids deserve better. I go throw things and cry now. Its all so sad

1. Bush and his master, Rove, fooled a lot of folks
who normally WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN VOTED, into putting him into a second term. Many of these people are disillusioned now because Bush hasn't delivered to them what they expected.

3. I'm right here with you, my friend.
I just don't get it, either. These people were asleep at the switch, allowing 9/11 to happen, but somehow managed to use it to their political advantage. People feel "safer" with an administration who allowed this to happen? And he promoted the person who ignored the bin Laden memos to Secretary of State?! Makes totally no sense to me, either, and I'm in your corner. We need to work together against this idiocy. The men that attacked the WTC in 1993, during the Clinton administration, are now behind bars. No one has paid for 9/11 and we have recruited terrorists, from all over the Middle East, by launching an unprovoked attack on Iraq and killing their children. Saddam was a monster, but he sure wouldn't have allowed terrorists into his country. I'm scared, too. And sad. Hang in there. You have found kindred spirits.

4. People who think John Wayne movies reflect real life like him...
...people who don't realize that John Wayne wasn't a cowboy or a soldier. He WAS an alcoholic, but he wasn't a cowboy or a soldier in real life. So in some ways, George Bush is a lot like John Wayne. The REAL one, though...not the "movie one."

If you look at the KIND of Bush behavior that gets a positive response outside of DU, it's generally all under the big "Bravado Umbrella."

Freepers cheer when Bush tells people to kiss his ass. WHY? Because they believe that standing up for what you believe in deserves applause. The MAJOR DISCONNECT comes when they don't seriously investigate or question "what he believes in."

But Bush SAYS he's a Christian, so the freeps and fundamentalists and Evangelical lunatics ACCEPT him as one. HOW MANY Christians on DU (including me) have stepped forward and said "don't put me in the same category as Bush?"

He talks about PROTECTING us so the freeps FEEL protected. Forget about "My Little Goat." Forget about ignoring the report saying that bin Laden wanted to attack the US, and maybe with airplanes. President Bush said he's PROTECTING us...and the freepers BELIEVE him.

Plus, maybe the freepers like the concept of bombing the crap out of Arab countries. If you read some of their posts, it sounds like they do.

So in the mind of a freeper, they are IN their "right mind." It's the way they want to think, and neither you nor I will change that.

Maybe the damage will come a little closer to them. Maybe they'll see and feel the real legacy of this man, up close and personal, "mano a mano," as he might put it. UNTIL that day, their country is "W" country.

Stop looking for the logic in this. You won't find it. Have a nice cup of coffee and talk to a few DU people.

Some have compared Bush to the person below. It is the wrong comparison. Bush is merely a puppet that tries to present what his masters tell him to present. Hitler was no puppet.

14. WINNING! He's a WINNER don't you want to be on the WINNING team?
If I can add on to what you posted this has been my observation.

This works really well with the SportsCenter white male crowd who pay little attention to anything not in headline font.

Rove and the RNC have painted themselves as tough guys who WIN. Hahaha look at the loser he's a LOSER we CRUSHED him and we are WINNERS!!! (this applies to liberals, the French, and backwardass rock covered nation, Saddam, etc)

People love winning and they don't care which bandwagon takes them to the medal ceremony just so long as they WIN!!!

18. Yeah, "We are the champions of the world"...I guess...
You're right.

It's the same mentality that doesn't understand a $2.99 purchase means you paid THREE DOLLARS.

It's the same mentality that doesn't understand that if you buy one and get one free, you have to BUY ONE, and in this world, NOTHING is free.

It's the same mentality that, as children, would sit spellbound and delighted and MESMERIZED while an adult waved a shiny object in front of them. Now they're all grown up, and the shiny object is Air Force One.

WAITER??? Oh WAITER?

CHECK PLEASE....

I see the signs all over town: the SUVs sporting "W - Still the President!" stickers in the window, a bumper sticker I espied this morning with the motto, "Ten out of ten terrorists say 'Anyone but Bush!'", and yesterday an elderly, tattered vet in a motorized wheelchair with Bush buttons all over his raggedy cap. Then of course, there are those who make their preferences known without ever using the "W" icon, such as the guy in the pickup truck who sported a bumper sticker with MLK's famous "I Have A Dream", next to a pic of the Capitol Building. What's wrong with that? Well, I initially thought that was a really cool sticker and I wanted one.. until I pulled up close enough to his bumper to see that atop the Capitol was flying the Confederate Stars and Bars, that is.

Who is his right mind indeed. I can only think that there is a good portion of our country suffering from mass delusion. I worry for 2008.

How else can you explain more post-election bumper stickers? How else can you explain veterans worshipping this guy who went AWOL? How else can you explain this coke-addict, brain-dead empty suit having so much support?

21. Yeah, those W stickers are still all over the parking lot at work..
Even some of my coworkers say that "Bush has done nothing to make me dislike him." The biggest problem seems to be ignorance. Some people need to watch fewer movies and sports and pick up a newspaper instead.

23. "Ten out of ten terrorists say 'Anyone but Bush!'" eh?
Well, in the words of, I dunno, bin Laden: "It appeared to him (Bush) that a little girl's talk about her goat and its butting was more important than the planes and their butting of the skyscrapers. That gave us three times the required time to carry out the operations, thank God." (AP, Oct. 29, '04)

10. The real problem is the compliant Corporate Whore Media
The poison is trickled into their homes by Fux News a drop at a time and repeated by O'Reilly, Insanity, and Rush the druggie. People believe whatever they see on the tube. Yes they are stupid but they are dumbed down 24/7 until they turn into sheeple.

17. The answer is 9/11
That was the moment when * gained widespread support and adoration and cemented his base. And we all know he milked it for all it's worth since Fear is a powerful tool. Add God to the mix and you've got a powerful concoction the sheeple can't let go of. Nevermind that all the evidence points to LIHOP or MIHOP and that all of * & Cos policies have hurt more people than they've helped.

22. Seriously...
* & Co allow this to happen, and when it does happen, * and Ghouliani in particular come out like King Swagger Cock, the savior of a nation....For what? Being in office when it happened and nothing else. Hell, a crackhead could just "exist" in the whitehouse when some disaster strikes...and technicly...one did.

You've got to hand it to the RW spinners though, they turned totally dropping the ball on national security into "our strong leader will carry us through this uncertain time".

As for the original question in this thread "Who in their right mind ...?". The answer is NO ONE.

going for him. No brains, and he looks like a chimp. Has the Planet of the Apes started to become a reality? He kind of runs the country the way the Apes did. If Bush had been alive two hundred years ago he would be the type who would fight like a dog to keep his slaves. Does he not seem like that type? He is simply a small minded person but much of the country believes only what they WANT to believe and they do not see reality. It's kind of like the abused wife syndrom. They love the guy who fucks them over for some twisted reason.
