Army Whitewashes Abu Gharib Scandal
No one is responsible. Just like bush* himself. Look the other way folks nothing here.

~snip~ Only one of the top five officers, whose roles the Senate Armed Services Committee had asked the Army to review, has received any punishment. That officer, Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, an Army Reserve officer who commanded the military police unit at the Abu Ghraib prison, was relieved of her command and given a written reprimand. She has repeatedly said she was made the scapegoat for the failures of superiors ~snip~

1. I heard that Congress has LOTS of questions about this decision.
A reporter from Crawford, on CNN this morning, said that there are MANY of Congress members who do not agree with this decision and have lots of quesitons! Apparently it must be members from both sides because this reporter said there would be hearings. I don't remember EVERY person who said this, but there were sure several who said they hoped the DOD wasn't just going to blame everything on the low level soldier and let those in charge WALK! I know Joe Biden was one of 'em, and I think Lindsey Graham was another. I'm sure there were others as well.

I sure hope both the House & Senate persue this. My son has been in the Navy for 20+ years, and I'm here to tell ya, those grunts weren't doing that stuff because they woke up one day with a novel new idea! Nor could they have possible gotten away with it for month without being caught unless the commanders wre asleep at the switch, of giving the orders!
