How useful are the state forums?
On Thursday I discovered Senator Lincoln Chafee was holding a public meeting in Rhode Island open to all next Wendesday night. With free food, no less!

Given Senator Kerry's message encouraging Dems to contact Chafee about his vote on the Bolton nomination, I posted full details in the RI forum, with cross-links in the Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts forums. At this moment, these 4 posts have garnered a total of 2 replies. In fact, there has been very little, if any, positing activity in these four state forums over the past few days.

If we are not using the state forums to organize locally, we are missing a great opportunity.

Stop griping in GD. Read what is happening in your state forum. Post event news. Plan a meet-up.

1. I check my state forum regularly, but will admit I'm sometimes...
disheartened by the lack of responses. Especially on calls to action.

2. I like reading the Indiana state forum because the good folks
there seem to do what you describe.

I concur that the state forums should be utilized more practically. But GD causes one to slip down the rabbit hole all too often.

3. The Texas forum is pretty active
We probably have a lot more work to do down here, though.

4. Our state forum,
Kansas, started a little slowly but has begun to pick up a lot lately as we have all gotten to know each other. As a red state I think we all realize that we need to keep each other informed and up to date and that probably accounts for some of it. I check my state forum frequently during the day when I am on line. If find it a very valuable resource. We also have many who post from Missouri since we are in this together and the KC area is affected by both states.

5. I do read my state forum but don't post there. I guess I'm just more
interested/opinionated about US and world politics.
