3. That's tough. What's worse, the chicken or the egg?
We wouldn't have the shrub if we didn't first have the Bush. Still, I went with junior.

4. Good question. Not easy to answer 'cuz they're both horrendous.
A Mexican acquaintence of mine reported to me that he had gone fishing over the weekend. I asked him if he had caught anything.

His English is worse than my Spanish and my Spanish is poor.

"Dos. Two," he told me.

I asked him how big the fish were.

"They are the same big," he explained.

Can I just steal that answer to answer your question, WI_DEM?

Poppy and Junior are "the same bad."

6. I voted dubya , but
Maybe I should have second thoughts. I always felt like George Sr. was clever, crafty, secretive, rotten to the core, evil, and above all, in control. George Jr., on the other hand, is just clueless and stupid. And that would mean that his pappy is the more dangerous of the two. I often get a nagging feeling that dubya is nothing but a puppet, his strings pulled by whoever or whatever is really running this country. Hell, the man can't even handle a debate without a receiver strapped to his back, so that someone can feed him responses. But I guess the sheeple have to believe that they still have some say in government.

AMY GOODMAN: We’re talking to Ray McGovern and David MacMichael, two former CIA analysts with the agency for more than a quarter of a century. We’ll be right back with that in a minute. (MUSIC BREAK) You are listening to Democracy Now! Ray McGovern, our guest, former CIA analyst. You were with the CIA for…

RAY MCGOVERN: 27 years.

AMY GOODMAN: And you worked directly under George Bush

RAY MCGOVERN: I did when he was director for CIA and later I saw him every other morning for a couple of years in the 80’s when he was Vice President.

AMY GOODMAN: Doing what?

RAY MCGOVERN: I was one of the briefers who prepared the President’s daily brief and delivered it and briefed people one on one with the senior officials downtown.

AMY GOODMAN:Now one of the things we are talking about a lot and seeing a lot is that the same people that were there during the Reagan-Bush years and even before, the Wolfowitzes the Rumsfelds, Cheneys were there then. What was George Bush’s view of these people then?

RAY MCGOVERN: Well, you know it’s really interesting. When we saw these people coming back in town, all of us said who were around in those days said, oh my god, ‘the crazies’ are back – ‘the crazies’ – that’s how we referred to these people.

AMY GOODMAN: Did George Bush refer to them that way?

RAY MCGOVERN: That’s the way everyone referred to them.

AMY GOODMAN: Including George Bush?

RAY MCGOVERN: Well, when Wolfowitz prepared that defense posture statement in 1991, where he elucidated the strategic vision that has now been implemented, Jim Baker, Secretary of State, Brent Scowcroft, security advisor to George Bush, and George Bush said hey, that thing goes right into the circular file. Suppress that thing, get rid of it. Somebody had the presence of mind to leak it and so that was suppressed. But now to see that arise out of the ashes and be implemented. while we start a war against Iraq, I wonder what Bush the first is really thinking. Because these were the same guys that all of us referred to as ‘the crazies’.

===

What is Boosh Sr's opinion of 'the crazies' now? Aren't these the very ones pulling the strings of the puppet dim-son?

on edit: I voted for W, though, cuz he has some kind of indescribable appeal to the sheeple. The people who like this guy are absolutely blinded to his faults. I think they really do view him as a sort of 'savior.' They truly believe that W will save America.

8. Both are equally bad, but junior
it more of a sociopath than his daddy. At least daddy didn't attempt to start WW 3 after the first Iraq war. While Junior wants to bring it on! He's as scary as hell. :scared:

11. Both are tools of the corporations, both are liars,
but I never wondered if GHWB was intelligent, while I'm convinced that GWB is a blithering idiot.

When the White House has to spread stories to reassure people that the President only sounds ditzy and he's really quite intelligent, you know there's a problem. We hear how he gets tongue-tied while trying to talk to the public, but he's very articulate when he's talking to confidants about business, politics or sports (the subjects he has expertise in). It's bullshit. He's a spoiled rich kid trying hard to out-Texan his opponents.

Actually, it seems that GWB was much more articulate and nimble in debates years ago (when he defeated Ann Richards back in Texas). The suspicion is that he has suffered real cognitive or mental decline since then, apparently as the result of his heavy drinking in younger years (it is said that such damage can manifest itself years after the drinking has stopped).

Anyway, I voted ffor GWB because he is dishonest, bellicose and stupid -- a particularly alarming combination. His father at least had the intelligence to listen to his Saudi agents and avoid expanding the Kuwait war.

14. I couldn't choose.
I could make the case for both of them.

Poppy is cunning and smart and evil to his core. A master puppeteer.

W is weak and stupid and arrogant and impressionable. He's a failure and he knows he's a failure and he knows we know he's a failure. He fears our knowing and loathes himself for admitting to knowing. He's thrown in his lot with the 'destructionists' and agreed to be their puppet. But he's no puppeteer. He will last only so long as he serves their purposes. But as a front man, he's masterful. His folksy charm belies the evil blackness in his soul. Like his father, he is evil to the core.

And don't get me started on the rest of that whole malevolent family ... including their women.
