How Clinton could have avoided being impeached.
He should have created a fake report stating that he did not have sex with Monica and sent it to the British. Then, instead of saying, "I did not have sex with that woman," he could have said, "The British government has evidence that I did not have sex with that woman."

2. or he could have told the truth when under oath
and not obstructed justice.

Give up on this useless impeachment of Bush stuff. Its not going to happen.

3. Yes, It's Unlikely
It's unlikely only because the Republicans control both houses of Congress. That doesn't mean that Bush should not be impeached. Clinton was impeached over a minor matter - using artful language to dodge an improper question. Bush ought to be impeached for duping Americans into a war in which thousands were killed.

4. Or not have had the affair in the first place
The point is, though, that Clinton was impeached for something that killed nobody and had nothing to do with national security.

5. obstructed justice?
since when is saying one didn't have sexual intercourse but
did get a BJ obstructing any kind of justice? The real injustice
was putting the Clintons, their staff and friends, and this country through $70 million plus in lawsuits and litigation, aside from distracting us from real problems like terrorist planning.

Mr. SquarePants, your days are numbered here with that kind
of irrational logic.

6. go look up the charges given for his impeachment, I did
it was not his offhand comment to the news that got him in trouble as so many seem to want to believe. It's not irrational logic, it was part of the case for impeachment.

Flame away if you want but are you that scared of the truth ?

8. your assertions do not
Edited on Sun Jul-13-03 11:43 AM by Pepperbelly
constitute truth, chickenfried.

You are entitled to your opinions but not your own facts.

If you want to discuss it, I will GLADLY take you to school regarding your erroneous claims.

11. That "case" was compiled by
a right-wing special prosecutor. It wasn't just Dems who thought it fell well short of Watergate. BTW, if you're going to read the charges you should read the WH's rebuttal to them to at least see both sides.

12. are you asserting that charges are the same thing as ...
truth?

Are you really saying that because Henry Hyde, Tom Delay and the rest of the discredited lying shits in the House gop caucus voted charges that they are true?

How fucking silly is that?

Tell me, chickenfried, what perjury was committed in the PJ case?

13. You should read Sid Blumenthal's book
"The Clinton Wars" to see how the Post was basically a mouthpiece for Ken Starr's office during the whole fiasco.

10. But he has managed to shift the focus of this tread.
This thread is about the way that Bush and Company manufactured a lie without actually telling one. Chickenfried has shifted the focus to the Clinton impeachment.

18. He could have refused to authorize a special prosecuter to
look into the charges. Of course, he probably assumed that the Republicans were interested in the truth....big mistake on his part.

So Southernfried...do you think that Bush will appoint a special prosecutor to check into the facts about the WMD evidence? Or about the administrations pre-knowledge of 9/11?

I don't....that is the difference. Clinton was the people's President, Bush is the special interest's selected pResident.
