28. But why so SOME soldiers who go into a combat zone and acquire an illness and then come home and die from that illness get put on the list of war casualties, while others do not make that same list? I have given several examples of each in this thread where some were counted and others were not. Who is making these arbitrary decisions? Could this be a case where figures don't lie, but liars sure do figure?

I just noticed something. They were counting those who died from illness in 2003, but in 2005 they are not counting them. I wonder when they decided to stop counting them? I can't find any info for 2004. I suspect they stopped counting them during 2003 to keep the casualty numbers down. Anyone else notice that? I wonder what the real casualty numbers are now?

1. They also only count the guys who are DRT or DOA
as being killed in action. If they die days or weeks later of complications from those wounds, they're not listed as having died.

The only thing you can be absolutely sure of with this bunch is that they're lying and Enronning every number that they produce.

4. I have checked and I DO think the DRT and DOA are being counted
But they do appear to have stopped counting those who come back and die from illnesses. And there were over 100 of those who had gotten sick and died of illnesses very early in the war. So the number now could be very high at this point. That number may even be comparable to the total number of combat deaths.

3. Damn high ...
No matter how you count them. I was listening to MSM... I think CBS.... news, and Gen McCaffry (sp?) said the Army is losing a company of killed and wounded a week and the Marines losing a platoon a week.

This war is not only a clusterfuck.... it's unsustainable. The US cannot go on with this thing!

6. I've been saying this for some time. 1568 is way too low for US KIA
AND dead from war-related injuries.
