Moussaoui says he had NOTHING to do with 911, his plot was for a different

'event'... now... why isn't the MSM mentioning any of this?

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/04/23/MNGFFCE37H1.DTL

Moussaoui, clad in a dark-green prison jumpsuit, stood before Judge Leonie Brinkema of the U.S. District Court here and said that he was forgoing a trial and understood that his guilty plea means he may be executed. But Moussaoui, a 36-year-old French citizen of Moroccan heritage who was arrested more than three years ago, offered a surprise: He said that despite his guilty plea he had nothing to do with the Sept. 11 attacks.

Instead, he said, he had been planning to participate in a separate, undisclosed plot to fly a plane into the White House at a different time. In a rambling discourse, he said his role was part of a plan to force the release of Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, a blind Muslim scholar who is serving a life sentence for conspiracy to blow up New York bridges and tunnels and other landmarks in 1993.

"I am guilty of a broad conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction to destroy the White House," he said, offering a new account of his role in terrorist plots that is at odds with the different versions that have been put forward by government prosecutors.

"You can't point to me and say that Moussaoui came to U.S. to participate in 9/11," he said. He told the court that he felt it was important to emphasize that he has not admitted to any connection with the Sept. 11 attacks because that would increase the pressure for his execution "when the government brings victim statements to court."

1. Yep, gay male hookers in the white house (not uncommon actually) are FAR
more important than the real lies of the bush regime about the 3000+ people it killed on 911.

2. SF Chronicle and NY Times aren't MSM?
It's a NYT article reprinted in the Chronicle (or at least posted on their site)

Also, his claim sounds a lot like bullshit to avoid the death penalty to me.

6. Every news story I've seen on this
even on my Local news (DC) is that he was pleading guilty to another plot, not the 9/11 one, so I think it's been covered heavily (hell, the local FOX channel covered that) what I wish people would talk about is that he is facing the death penalty not only for a crime he didn't commit, but a crime that was never actually committed! He didn't do anything, no one did anything! Certainly planning a murder or act of terror is a crime, no question, but I don't see the death penalty for planning to kill someone who doesn't actually get killed.

let me try it this way. If I hired a hit man to kill my wife (I'm not married, nor have I ever been, so this ia purely hypothetical situation) and that hit man turned out to be an undercover cop, which you see on Dateline all the time, did I commit a crime? yes. I could be charged with conspiracy, hiring a contract killer, whatever, but I can't face first degree murder charges, or the death penalty, because no one actually got killed. Preempitve execution is a scary thing.

3. I watched "The Siege", again, last night.
I'll never forget that Franks asserted martial law would be required in the event of another terrorist attack.

The whole movie seems to so closely mirror an evolving reality under the Bush administration. It's very,...weird.

4. Is Moussaoui insane?
He seems insane with his mad ranting, but his rants make sense in "Moussaoui-land" and he has played the American legal system well. I can never decide if he's schizophrenic, a savant of some sort, or if he's just crazy like a fox.

7. he probably wants to become a martyr
so yes, there's something wrong (I have great respect for anyone who lays down his life, willingly, for a cause they believe in, but I have no respect for someone who PLANS or DESIRES to die for the cause, or for a cause that expects it.)

example: a firefighter who dies rescusing a child from a burning building: hero.
a firefighter who sets the fire so he can die: nutcase.

5. This case bothers me
It seems pretty clear that Moussaoui had quite a few disturbing connections to the hijackers, but I doubt anyone in Al Quada trusted Moussauoi to deliver lunch.

And I certainly don't think someone who was pretty clearly crazy three years ago got any saner during his time in isolation.
