1. Can you blame them? Bush is President.

I think their prayers are along the lines of, "Oh God, oh God, oh God! We're screwed! Oh God... Amen."

4. What about people who pray multiple times per day?
Do they count extra? Jews are supposed to pray 3 times per day and observant Muslims must pray 5 times. Doesn't that count for something?

7. Private Prayer vs. Organized "Prayer"
Another "how bad do you beat your wife poll". First, when the question is posed, I'm sure its presented (remember Rassmussen is a GOOP shill operation) with a series of other questions that make the respondant feel they must show they are "spiritual" or "flunk" the poll (it's amazing how many people think there's a right/wrong answer to these things). When someone wants to get these kind of numbers, just load up a bunch of questions ahead of time like "are you a member of a religious faith", "were your parents", "are people of faith more reliable than those who profess no faith?" and so on...so by the time they pop this question it's been stovepiped to create the results Rasmussen or another pollster is looking for.

Of course, the question not asked, is HOW they pray. Is this privately? Is this in a church? Is this to a known god (jesus) or one of a different persuassion? Now if I pray that the "E" on my keyboard doesn't stick or just "wish" it, is that praying as well?

Isn't it ironic the right wing needs to constantly poll and question people's spirituality and religious beliefs...as to attempt to either convince themselves they have some or to dillute it's value to something they can manipulate.

8. Now are those 47% stuck in traffic at the time?
Cause that's where I do most of my praying... and swearing for that matter.

9. Sometimes I pray because "What the hell!" what do I have to lose?
I don't expect anything good to happen and if it did I would wonder why God took the time to help me with a small problem and forgot about the poor child who is dying in Africa and in extreme pain. When I do pray I also ask the sun God to help all people who are suffering as well. It's only right.

10. I don't care
I'm not going to give up the establishment clause of the constitution. Where the hell are the real patriots in this country? Are we just going to let them sink our constitution?

11. What's up...?
I posted "More religion" below yesterday.... and the only comment was " must we? n/t"

Nobody wanted to comment then. Is it my breath? I find the prayer/belief level of Americans astonishing.

More religion....
Might as well have some more religious bullshit on this forum. I know it comes from WorldNet and Rasmussen, but with the level of belief in the Christian Occult in this country, it's probably true. Quaint, superstitious people, these Americans.

Poll: 63% of Americans think Bible literally true
Those believing Scripture is Word of God higher among Republicans than Democrats
April 24, 2005 © 2005 WorldNetDaily.com
At a time when the public display and discourse about matters of faith have been under attack, a new poll indicates most Americans – 63 percent – believe the Bible is literally true and the Word of God.
The survey taken Thursday and Friday by Rasmussen Reports found just 24 percent thinking otherwise.
When broken down into different demographics, the poll showed 77 percent of Republicans believe in the literal truth of the Bible as do 59 percent of Democrats and 50 percent of those not affiliated with either major party.

12. And this is a big surprise?
A huge majority of Americans believe in God. And I'll bet a pretty good chunk of that 47% consists of Democrats.

Of course, that will always come as a shock to the "if you're liberal, you can't be religious" brigade...and who make a nice mirror image to those on the right who would argue the same, but with the terms reversed. :eyes:
