Now we know how other cultures feel ......... I hate republicans.
And, I have learned to hate most Christians as well. These people will NOT stop until they destroy everything that is Democratic or Liberal. Whats worse, they always attack with a smug self-righteousness that affirms their belief that they are sooooo much better than everyone else.

Now I know (as a white male) how other cultures must have felt as the God-Damn Republican Christians showed up and began to destroy and slander everything that was, or is, holy to them.

I hate to say it, but I can actually empathize with the radical Muslims at this level. How can any sane person keep their cool when forced to deal with these lying bastards.

We have been forced into a war on virtually every meaningful front there is in our society.

I really do hate to rant, but I am sick of these bastards sticking their nose where it does not belong and trying to "evangelize" the world. If we loose PBS to these thugs, then it will be the last straw.

Does anyone else feel this way?

2. Here..
I can totally empathize with others. I don't know if it's a gift or a curse, but I've always been able to put myself in the other person's shoes. Unless they're republican. Those are shoes that I refuse to wear. I have in the past, but never again.

3. PBS is already lost
I would guess that individuals who are Christ-like will stop calling themselves "christians" -- to distinguish between their belief in Christ's teachings and the Xians perversion of the name and teachings.

26. Yes, and even if you aren't a Christian, you can call yourself
Christ-like, indicating you agree with the teachings of the real Christ. Jesus, himself, would have liked that as he always reached out to the outsider, the foreigner, even the hated Romans, when he forgave them for crucifying him.

5. Count me in too
I see even shades of repug thinking here on DU, I see it in the pro spanking crowd, in the inverted self responsibility kicks people get on ,The"Darwin awards" and the quippy stupid bully trolls making fun of fat people in a way they'd be ashamed to do if the epithets and ignorance they hurl at fat people was exchanged with gay or black..
I am sick of hate words like bitch slap, and the people rationalizing exploitation and degradation of women, making excuses for it by trying to redefine it.I hate the mental illness bashing. The spirituality bashing.(different thing than religion) DU has it's scapegoats too.. Until Democrats stop, scapegoating their own, and take their own bigotries and words into account and realize this hypocrisy is in themselves they will not be morally better than the right wing bully party, all that much..Even though ethically they are far better and more human than cheep labor republicans..

I feel this same domination sickness is in here and on all sides of the political spectrum too.We need to be better people to each other .We can start by stopping the bashing of people, and start pointing out the harm of bad behaviors, and bad systems of beliefs ,we can judge these actions and choices people make without tearing down a person's humanity or scapegoating them.
We can call out ,judge and condemn any toxic beliefs and inhuman attitudes that encourage and sanction human cruelty exploitation or abuse and call this inhumane behavior "good".

Some forms of Christianity are not all bad(even when their text is corrupted) because the people have a stronger inner understanding of human rights ethics and grasp of human dignity that overrides the evil in the bible,(quakers UU Etc). They are saner with their insane religion.

Unlike the bible/Koran thumpers who don't have a moral compass based in empathy or decency ,so they subject human rights to a text and avoid responsibility for the harm their beliefs cause..Because they are moral relativists in a bad way, posing as moral absolutists. They have no humane sense of ethics when they use old texts to justify human rights abuses they do today.

9. They are incapable of tolarating any diversity..
If it does not look or smell like them, then they must attack and destroy it.

The world is a much richer place when differences can be appreciated. I am not sure that the practice of "evangelizing" is compatible with anything other than its own.

Watching "Justice Sunday", or witnessing the relentless attack on our social programs, the lies surrounding the war and everything republican, has taken its toll on me.

I am beginning to understand the powerless who resort to terrorism in a much more intimate way. While I have never been violent, I am beginning to see why others get that way, and I can almost condone their efforts.

how racial minorities and GLBT's feel.

In fact, I empathize and identify more with them nowdays than a lot of whites.

I've thrown in my lot with them, actually. I drive around with an HRC sticker on my car and am very open and loud about my support for GLBT rights.

And to "them" that means I might as well BE one of them. Fine by me if they want to lump me in. The people I am working for/defending are far nicer and more trustworthy anyway.

12. The bushtapo has created a Human Shield through ignorance.
Sometimes it seems like there is no solution; obvously the truth is not going to get out via the MSM anytime soon.

How is the message supposed to get out? If you point to the dominionists, then the rest jump on you for "attacking Christians".

Their grip on power seems to get stronger with each controversy. It is sooo frustrating.

14. Hanging on the Cross
YES.

We weren't lost and
We didn't need any book
Then the great spirit
Met the great lie
Indians are jesus
Hanging from the cross
Hanging from the cross

In the name of their savior
Forcing on us
The trinity of the chain
Guilt sin and blame
The trinity of the chain
Guilt sin and blame
Hanging from the cross
Hanging from the cross

16. They make me sick as well
Mentally and even physically sometimes.

The way they just want to take over the entire US and even the world with their perversion of the Christian religion, and the way they will wage war on anyone and everyone they can get away with to 'establish democracy'. Democracy at gunpoint....what a laugh! Interesting how they seem to prefer to 'establish democracy' in nations that have a crapload of oil....

And if I again hear how they are so fabulous and anyone who disagrees with them is immoral, god hating, libbie/commie/socialist/pinko trash I swear I will puke on them :puke:

18. Yes, the GOP and religious right are creating secterianism
of the sort not seen in the country (excepting the "sectionalism" of the pre- and post-civil war).

How soon before the bastards start marching through liberal areas with big damn drums to celebrate the the victory of christians over the secularists?

Outside of the civil war, the political history of the United States offers some hope of a "revolt of the middle" against the extremeists, much as the Gingrich revolution died out in the early 90s. But a revolt of the middle could also bring another Nixon.

20. I can just see them with the "big damn drums" now.
Maybe that is what the bushtapo is striving towards; another civil war. They would love the opportunity to declare martial law.

Just think of how they would misuse power in that event. The department of Homeland Security would become the new American STAZI.

21. I feel exactly this way!
Except, I'm not a male.

The other day while watching the House debate of the CIANA, I finally just threw up my hands said, "Fuck it! Let them have it!" I said it again watching Crossfire yesterday and learned that the *cough* good *cough* Reverand Joe Watson who has been sitting in as host on the 'right' is...wait for it...here it comes...Yes! An Evangelical.

I looked up Ken Bode. The newly appointed ombudsman for PBS. Needless to say, I'm not impressed. He's written that his worst day was the day Reagan was shot. Now, I would agree that having the POTUS shot is not a good thing, but to recall it as the worst day ever?

I'm so war weary from being attacked. When I hear the talking head Cons talk and make their snide about "Democrat" this or that, I want to spit in their faces because they might as well be punching me in the face. It's what they dream of doing; beat into submission with words.

I'm sick of it!

23. The world seems to be spiraling out of control.
I wonder if they have the slightest clue what this country will be like if every fundamentalist gets their way.

Soon we will be stoning women to death for adultery because "thats what the bible says"

Not too long ago, people who heard voices and believed the end of the world was near were committed to asylums. Now we have them controlling the world.

It is more than a little unnerving to realize that the POTUS believes in Armageddon and the end of the world. All the while his hand is ever so close to the big red button.

24. When I lived in South America,
the book "The Ugly American" came out. No one needed to make me read this book to see it, because I saw it everyday. Local people would tell me that I was okay even though I was a Yanqui. They were too polite to use the word they used behind our backs, Gringa.

I realize now that there are two types of Americans, reich wingers, who are really hateful in every way, and we the liberals. Liberals fortunately are the majority and the real Americans. We need to take our country back and send these Nazi imperialists to hide back under their rocks again where they can't do any harm.

It is almost embarrassing to be an American with these charlatans in power. I am starting to believe that the biggest cause of terrorism is the way our business and political leaders behave in other countries. We need a national policy which addresses this issue. All the republicraps want to do is legislate the morality of us peasants. It is time that we legislate the morality of the capitalists. Then we would probably see a decline in global terrorism.

I love the term "Reich wingers" BTW, and I hope you don't mind if I use it. It will fit nicely with another term I like: The Bushtapo.

<edit for spell checking>

28. I didn't invent "reich wingers".
It's been used by various DUers since the coup so you can use it too. It is very appropriate though. I use it to distinguish them from real conservatives like Lou Dobbs, who aren't reich wingers.

29. I never used to hate either the Xtians or the Pugs...
I didnt hate Reagan. Didnt even hate Gingrich. But I really do HATE Bush.

I managed to tolerate the various religions as long as they kept thier fantasy worlds to themselves. they viewed me as doomed to hell and I viewed them as insane but we basically left each other alone and got along.

But now these fundy Xtians are incapable of that. They went from simple irritant evangelizing to fucking the whole country. And they are too gullible to see they are being used as the tools they are by the Pugs.
