good example of the difference between DU and Freeperville...
here's thier thread on the news of the rediscovery of the Ivory Billed Woodpecker. Contrast this juvenile garbage with DU's threads on the same subject. No wonder FR is descending into self implosion.

5. READ THIS !
To: ZULU

(snip from article)
The first report came in February 2004, when a kayaker spotted what's described as "an unusually large, red-crested woodpecker flying towards him and landing near the base of a tree 20 meters away."

"Must be a foreign kayaker. No native Arkansan (nor any true American) would use that communist metric talk like that."

8. my point is...
this is more than just a basic deep down difference in ideology. Their thread points to a fundamental difference in emotional maturity. Maybe FR has been hijacked by a pack of high school kids?? the serious conservatives over there have been chased off for the most part. they call it "opus" out

34. There is a complete difference in maturity.
Freepers and rethugs are unable to see the nuiances in life- much like children. Either they get their way or they revert to their terrible-twos and throw a tantrum.

We, on the other hand, understand that life has many shades of gray.

A perfect example is the liberal stance on abortion- it's personal and none of anyone's business, versus the reich, who says no, because I don't like them and that's the end of that. So, nah-nah-nah, I"m taking my ball and going home.

Thank you for being brave and finding this post from freeper-creeper-ville.:)

9. Pathetic little trolls. I heard this on NPR this morning
And I knew that the right wing (I figured Rush) would jump on this and try to say that this somehow proves that conservation and the environmental movement have got it all wrong.

Or maybe they would tie this to Gods Design...

Only a matter of time.

Beautiful Plumage.

No replies in kind, though. If I'd posted that here, 22 people would've replied, "The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone not-dead."

FReepers and Python... and never the twain shall meet.

35. Only been there a few times before the election
And I agree, I was struck by the disparity in intelligence compared to DU folks. And the lack of knowledge of the facts - the willingness to buy anything they're told, they're easy marks for very slick liars in their party. The other big thing I noticed was, well, they aren't funny/don't have a sense of humor like the DU people. And that's true for their leaders/talk show hosts as well. What is it about liberal people who just have a knack to be funny?

And I quite frankly don't care what they have to say. It's a boring place full of intolerant sheeple.

38. good point about a general lack of (good) humor at FR..
about the best the neo/conservatives can do is Dennis Miller and he pretty much sucks..

former friends of mine with freeper tendencies generally lacked an original sense of humor. maybe hate and humor are mutually exclusive

some sociology or psychology grad student should do a master's thesis studying the differences between DU and FR personalities, mentality, demographic and so on..
