Tonight the message light was blinking red on my digital converter box. I opened up my message -- the one and only one I've ever received -- and Lo! and Behold! I was notified of the "Presidential Address To The Nation."

My God! This is freaky!!

though Comcast here, so maybe it wasn't the same message (and we get them all the time), but it was to point out that because of the address, regular programming was being moved back. Not to advertise the president. I mean, it did, but so people would know other things were moved.

it kinda makes sense considering that in the AM the press conference was supposed to be at 8:30pm, and then it was going to be covered by the major stations and then it was again but at 8.

i didn't mind it.

Do you receive "bad weather" alerts, or alerts on any other matter???

Unless I signed up for alerts for news/media events, I wouldn't want my cable provider *spamming* me.
