Compromise entails a give and take. Maybe no one gets everything that they want, but no one gets totally screwed either. I'm fine with that.

Compromise is not the cherrypicking/coopting of your opponent's agenda in milder form. Compromise is not the 1996 welfare reform law with nothing in return. Compromise is not the bankruptcy law, or IWR, or NCLB, with nothing in return.

I'm fine with compromise. Frustrating as it may be, it's the way of things. Let's just not call what is not compromise, compromise.
