It's been awhile. Are Democrats still alive out there? |
|
I feel like I have been suffering PTSD and have not been myself after the election. When I get emails or phone calls from someone in Kerry group or Harry Ried, it just makes me so angry and disappointed all over again.
When I see the alcohol-eaten sh!t-faced grins of Bush I get ill and have to step away from the TV.
As I scan a few articles or editorials every now and again I continue to grow discouraged. Democrats? Republicans? UGGHH!
I just feel it's one big machine that is going to destroy the individual and rape and sodomize our country, constitution, etc.
Sound discouraged? Yes, I am. But I cannot for the LIFE OF ME see how we b!tch slap some sense into another 5 to 10 % of the electorate. It feels like we're being railroaded to accept a new reality.
But anyway, I am feeling somewhat better and that is why I am writing today.
How are we doing? What's the word? Is there a gleam of hope? Are these religious crusaders and corportate whores being unmasked yet? Can we see them hoisted up on their own petard within months?
Or is it just a little bit more push-pull in the status quo?

1. Democrats are working hard |
|
to pull defeat out of all the missteps of Chimp and Co. When in doubt the just wimp out. They have however had measurable success with the House Ethics Cmte with Pelosi keeping the week kneed ones from drifting too far, its too soon to tell how Reid wil do in saving our independent judicial system. Best thing all week was the open letter from Tom Hayden to Howard Dean telling him to stop collaborating with the pukes on Iraq.

2. Democrats are everywhere - they just don't show them on TV |
|
other than CSPAN or CSPAN2 -- and if you have missed the Dems during the Bolton hearings, you have missed some hot stuff.

3. this is my problem. some republican coworkers say... |
|
where are the democrats? If they don't like what is going on...where is their set of ideas?
I try to tell them that is just the point. Average citizens of any political stripe are getting very uncomfortable about what they see taking place in this country politically and legislatively but the NEWS MEDIA BLACKOUT is very effectively making it look like there is no alternative.
It's almost like they ARE BEGGING for an armed response as the only way big media will cover the OPPOSITION. THen this country will be in a horrible mess as the party in power uses "safety and security" as a means to go after political opponents.
THey have their hands on our necks and are applying the deathgrip.
What can we do?

4. Your co-workers need to get out there and help us. We don't have money |
|
and the few folks who are giving their volunteer time in our State governments are wearing out.
Folks need to get together in their communities with other like minded folks and start organizing. We have a Media that's like the old Soviet "Pravda" which only tells the people what the "gubmit/corporations" want you to know.
We Democrats need organizing and volunteer time in our local communties...Push Back...Push Back!
