Anecdotal observation about Faux News viewers |
|
My son is in house hunting mode (in partnership with Sparkly and me who are funding the downstroke and will be co-owners with him.) Our hunt has been intense but so far unproductive (fodder for another thread).
Anyway, in going from house to house, often while the occupants are there, I notice that almost every house where there are no liddle kiddies home watchin' cartoons has the teevee tuned to Faux News during the day.
We're looking in Baltimore City, mind you. The same city that just voted in the Dems at a rate of about 85% - 15%. I don't smell any sulphur in these places, so the chance of actual demonic possession is probably low. So what's up with all the Faux viewers?

Lots of graphics, sounds, "tabloid style."
Great for the short American attention span.

2. What's really frightening is that there is nary a difference |
|
anymore between Faux, MSN and CNN. All have been leading with either the miraculous rescue of those two boys in NC or the runaway bride. The 11 soldiers who died over the weekend, or much of any info about the ME, is mentioned as an afterthought. Maybe the MSM is right; people don't care about what's happening 'over there', but it bugs the hell out of me and is making me crazy!

3. Everywhere I go the TV is on Faux News. If its a public place and |
|
it has a TV, its on that damn channel.
At first I said I was going to stop going to any restaurant that plays fox news. Then I realized I'd starve, so I got over it.

7. I have noticed that too. |

We opened a bank account recently for my father in law, here, because he is moving in with us and at the bank, every TV was tuned to Fox. It was a little unnerving. At my bank, they don't even have TVs, so I did think it was a little bit strange.

4. Even a lot of Dems think Fox isn't "that bad" |
|
And they just keep it on. They also don't realize how bad CNN is, probably because they really aren't paying attention.
Doesn't necessarily mean they're Dem Bush supporters or anything, or that they'll be influenced by it.

but despite their obvious shortcomings (read EVIL) Fox does have some of the quickest cuts to breaking news. They'll interrupt just about anything. Even the non-missing missing fiance. That being said I've still seen the LBN section of DU scoop everyone most of the time :yourock:

6. My best friend might be the exception |
|
he watched faux religiously and he just changed from Dem to Repub. this last election. Truly believes we're winning the war on terror and that 9/11 made him change parties.
