Prediction: Attempts to Limit Access to BC Will Derail Anti-Choicers |
|
The anti-choice movement has done a good job at using pseudo-science and sentiment to conflate potential humans with actual babies. And so far, very few politicians have had the spine to challenge them on their treatment of actual (as opposed to hypothetical) children. But the anti-birth control efforts specifically aimed at insurance and pharmacies will be a major over-reach, and will cause a backlash. Once the story gets out that anti-choicers actually consider birth control pills to be abortions, the mask will have fallen and they will stand, revealed as the controlling, misogynistic fools that they are.
That's my prediction.

1. And what about this... |

What about fertility clinics? They routinely create and destroy human embryos, yet the anti-choice doesn't care about those embryos, do they? Precious little embryos mass-produced and put in the deep freeze, where is the outrage? They're not out picketing fertility clinics, are they?
No, they only care when it is an actual WOMAN making a CHOICE. That proves their movement is all about misogyny.

What's more, couples who use IVF generally use IVF instead of adoption. So you'd think the anti-choice goons would be all over encouraging someone to adopt. But NO!

Yes, I would say about 75% of them don't support these pharmacists. There comments range from "fire their ass for not doing their job" to "I/my wife take the Pill". It is, once again, the very vocal extreme religious nuts who want to force THEIR religious beliefs on others. Many of them even think condoms should be banned too since they inter fer with God's purpose for sex - to make babies. It isn't just that they think the Pill might cause an abortion (prevent implantation of fertilized egg), but even that it prevents babies from being conceived in the first place. From what I have read, the majority of them are Catholic and take the Catholic Church stance on birth control. When they start going the road of ban the BC Pill, they are in for one great big backlash - even among their own. I number of posters on their sites have said exactly this.
They are outraged as far as the fertility clinics. They say either that only one egg should be fertilized and implanted at a time, that the couple must implant all they fertilized eggs they create, that there should be a national frozen embryo adoption bank, or that IVF should be banned totally since it makes a "mockery" of God's plan for making babies. I saw a thread on Brooks Shields under the title that she killed 140 of her babies with IVF. Can you believe them?
They a very vocal minority. The only way to counter them is for the majority to scream as loud as they do. These people truly are the "Christian" taliban. Who cares what they believe. They want to live and think like that, fine. Just don't force your religious beliefs on everybody else.
