Why is it big news that Loews will post actual times?
First off, has anyone seen or heard this yet? I swear that I've probably heard it on the radio ten times today, and seen it on numerous websites (e.g. Yahoo!). Why is this news??????

Second, all they are going to do is print that movies will start 10-15 minutes after the printed start time. Is there really anyone out there who hasn't figured that out yet?????

Good thing we're not in the middle of a war or anything major like that!

4. Actually, I never count on 10-15 minutes.
I'm always scared that I'll get how long the trailers are wrong and I'll miss some, so I try to get there on time.

Actually this will suck because it will encourage people to come in later, and then some might really be late and disturb everyone trying to catch the beginning.

5. I actually LIKE the trailers
Nine times out of 10 they're better than the actual movie I came to see.

6. They save me money.
The trailers show so much about the movie, that once I have seen a few, I don't need to pay to see the movie.

Why are they called "trailers" if they area before the featured presentation and not after it? Shouldn't they be called leaders?

7. Gee whiz
I remember the days when I was a projectionist at a ten screener, and when the movie was supposed to start at 9pm, I pushed the 'start' button at 9pm. Not 9:05, not 9:15. We had anywhere between 8-15 minutes of trailers and then the movie started.

I also remember fondly those people who would grab me roughly when I did a theater check to demand that I turn on the lights and find them a seat after they arrived half an hour late. Or those people who wanted us to REWIND the movie. Or those who wanted to stay 30 minutes into the next showing so they could catch the parts they missed.

Still miss projection though. Coolest job ever.
