Challenge to young Americans: Let's not wait for a draft. WAKE UP! |
|
It's May of 2005, and you know what that means, right? Colleges are getting out all over the country. What a perfect time it would be to see young people all over the country get mobilized and march in the streets of every major city in the country. I mean, this IS mostly about our young people, isn't it? Aren't they the ones dying and getting maimed over there? Aren't they the ones having to live with nightmares the rest of their lives?
Isn't it about time for some marches & a little old-fashioned protesting? How about getting off your complacent asses and into the spotlight, ala the days of Vietnam? Show some energy and people of all ages will join you!
We can talk among ourselves about leaving Iraq all we want, but unless people in large numbers start protesting in the streets with signs, it's pretty much all for naught.
Public opinion of the Chimperor is at an all-time low.
It's now official that the majority of people in this country think the war in Iraq was a mistake.
and college is getting out as everyone twiddles their fingers.
What more do we want? The timing couldn't be more perfect. Let's not continue to let this bastard off the hook!

1. The youth is only interested in concerts nowadays |
|
So you have to find a band first before you can march. And don't ask them who the VP is either...

2. That will all change with the draft |
|
I look forward to it now. It's the one thing that can mobilize the people to save this nation.

3. That's the sad truth isn't it |
|
Did you notice that even on DU the story about the attacks and deads in Iraq and Afghanistan tend to get little or no replies and quickly disappear from the page.
It would either take a draft or many more casualities to get the public opinion to take real action.

They may want one, but I do not see it happening. No one has the guts to be that stupid.

:toast:
Never overestimate the stupidity of the current leadership.
Suddenly the #3 in Al-Qaeda is arrested and a bomb goes off near the British Embassy. Just before the Blair election.
Right now the * administration still has enough people to continue to war in Iraq, but what if they get into trouble. They have to guts and the stupidity, so don't overestimate them.

6. Waiting for a draft shows lack of foresight & perceives a lack of guts |
|
The message would be twice as meaningful if people of draft age protest BEFORE their lives are threatened, not after.
