My relative was a right-hand woman for Jack Abramoff |
|
Approximately 2-3 years ago, one of my close relatives worked for Greenberg-Traurig with Jack Abramoff, soon after she got married and started working in DC. She would often go on the junkets mentioned, including trips to Europe, and other stuff.
Today, she is a frightened woman, got fired from GT due to her working relationship with Abramoff, having laid off from another law firm, and started her own with a partner. She no longer works in the political arena, because it stressed her a lot. She had to go through many Senate hearing about the scandals, because she may be implicated later on but we are hoping that she will get out of this scandal squeaky clean.
Yes, she is a Democrat, and she is also Jewish, so she is why Jack Abramoff had her close by. She also worked for the first term of the Clinton White House with Al Gore, and that's how she got into politics. Now, she is planning on a move to Israel within the next few months with her family, leaving all the scandals and problems behind in the United States.
She will be an expatriot.
Any thoughts or questions?

None of which I care to share. I think I'll call up a pal at GT first.

2. Hopefully she has a good lawyer |
|
and all her finances are in order.
Of course what I'd wish she do is come clean about what was going on in Abramoff's office, but that would be a very dangerous thing for her to do.

3. I'm sure her patriotism will be unaffected. |

Event when she becomes an expatriATE.
Sorry, pet peeve. :) Seriously, all the best to her.

4. I picked up on that too |
|
& was having a bit of quiet fun reading "expatriot" as the "past tense" of patriot.

6. Hmm... Well, give her a big *THANK YOU* from me. |
|
For this ---> "leaving all the scandals and problems behind in the United States."
Should've cleaned up a mite.
No, I won't be sending her her damage deposit.

7. A good friend of mine worked in the Greenberg -Traurig LA office |
|
When she walked out of there, she was left a burned-out, stressed-out mess and still hasn't emotionally or physically recovered.
Isn't this the same outfit that represented Bush in Florida in 2000?

8. Tell her to make an extensive written record, leave nothing out. |
|
Arrange things so that with one click of a button, it will be posted on the Internet in a widely-read forum *cough*.
I'm sorry she is frightened. I would be, too. Best of luck to her.
