I just took an online Harris Poll and used the opportunity to editorialize
They provided a space to give a free-form answer to describe how you felt about a particular TV commercial.

After I said my piece about that awful "Lime in the Coke you nut" commercial, I used the opportunity to give the following off-topic feedback:

<snip>

Anyway, as long as I finally have time for a free-form answer (all surveys should have at least one) I would like to take the time to tell you that:

1- I usually buy either Coke or Pepsi based upon what is on sale.

2- Most of my purchases are determined upon information at www.BuyBlue.org. The single biggest factor in my purchases since November has been to avoid companies that donate to Republicans. I completely avoid any company that donates to Musgrave, DeLay, Frist or Santorum. I am very well aware that 62% of coca-cola's contributions were to Republicans with 58% of your PAC's $153,000 going to Republicans. If you want my brand loyalty, then STOP IT. http://www.buyblue.org/detail.php?corpId=169

3- I no longer shop at Shaw's at all. You will never see me in a Walmart again. I often shop at Stop & Shop, but I rely mostly on Costco-it's 99% Democrat!

4- I listen to Air America Radio and watch The Daily Show every day. I never watch Fox "News" and almost never watch CNN. I pay attention to who sponsors Public Television and which shows they support.

5- I can not recall ever seeing an ad for bottled water or soft drinks advertised online. But then again, I have very good pop-up and banner ad blocking software (thanks to Mozilla Firefox and Google toolbar). Sliders, Pop-up, pop-overs, pop-unders, and animated ads really piss me off.

Also, here are some interesting statistics they provided me with. The question asked which sports do you watch on TV. Some of the results were:

Baseball 26.8%
Pro football 32.8%
NASCAR 11.8%
None 43.10%

That surprises me. 43.10% of the people surveyed do not watch sports on TV.

1. I'm surprised that more than 43% do watch sports
There are a whole lot of us out here who could not give two poops about sports, both male and female.

2. That sports stat is incredible, given how much emphasis
the corporate media puts on it.

Should tell 'em something, huh?

3. Only 26.8% of Americans watch baseball. So why is steroids such a priority
Damn!

Topping Bush's political agenda:

1) Gay marriage
2) Social Security
3) Steroids in Baseball
4) Oil
6) Everything else that matters.
