Went to breakfast for Mother's Day |
|
We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated so we decided to sit in the car and read the paper.
A young couple came out to get in to the car next to us. He was holding a baby. As soon as he opened the driver's door, he said "Well it looks like Mommy left the driver's seat all the way forward again." He then shoved the baby into Mommy's arms and proceeded to put the seat back, bitching the whole time. He said he was tired of her driving HIS car and forgetting to put things back the way he had left them, that he would rather be hit in the face with the air bag than shoved face first into the steering wheel. (At that point, my husband looked at me and said the guy is acting like he needs to have his face shoved into something.)
The car was a convertible. He put the top down and continued yelling at Mommy. By this time, he had worked himself into a frenzy and could be heard by several people walking by who stopped and glared at him. Finally, he started the car, gunned the engine, and drove like a maniac across the shopping center parking lot. Miraculously, no one appeared to be hurt.
And no surprise, when he pulled out, we noticed he had a great big W bumper sticker on his car and military license plates. :puke:

I really felt sorry for her.
It was at the IHOP at 63 and Antioch which is by KMart. You know how hilly that parking lot is? It was unbelievable that guy didn't hit anyone as he thundered across the lot. Both my hubby and I used to work at that KMart. We can remember lots of nasty accidents in that lot.

22. I wondered if you meant Kansas. |
|
I know Antioch and the IHop you're talking about well. Figures...typical Overland Park mentality. I used to hold the door for people sometime when I'd go in a store and they'd look at me like they expected it. If it was a double door...the next door was let go in their face! Rude and arrogant assholes!

and so were a bunch of other DUers. We have a great turnout at our monthly meetups. So it isn't the community. Maybe this guy is from a hateful red family.

is I do live in a red state and I know lots of Republicans, but very few freepers. Most of the Republicans I know are downright embarrassed at the behavior of chimp and delay, etc

We've been doing the same here in "blue" Maryland .... which is really a lot more purple than blue. One person at a time. Yakkin' it up. At parties. In stores. On the street. Yakkin' it up fer our side!

Funny thing is we had been talking about the kid in Georgia talking on the cell phone to his mom in Iraq right as this couple walked up. Makes me wonder if that's the excuse this year - I am in Iraq, or I just got back from Iraq.
And flame me if you want, but I don't care where this guy had been, he was an ass. He also will injure someone soon if he keeps driving recklessly.

13. And there's a difference between BEING one and acting like one |
|
I am not defending or excusing the behavior, but I am pointing out that behaviors can result from experiences that produce psychological damage due to being subjected to intractable stress.
Those suffering from it need help not just condemnation.

...when I took my son out to sell popcorn for Boy Scouts last fall prior to the election, virtually none of the families with Bush signs on their front lawns made a purchase. Some of these Republicans were downright angry and rude, barking at my son and slamming the door. After being burned over and over, my son suggested that we just skip the Bush homes altogether because it was a waste of time.
Almost always, families with Kerry signs would make a purchase; most of those who didn't said they had made a purchase elsewhere. Not a single family with a Kerry sign was snippy.
Bottomline -- Dems supported the troops!
