No, I've never fallen for it- since I am aware that this kind of scam/spam exists.

But it seems like I am forwarding one of these phony emails to PayPal or EBay every single day. (spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com)
I assume that they must look into it, but amazingly, I keep getting more every day, and they're all from different sources.

I also get spoofs on banks I've never heard of several times a week.

There must be a low risk of getting caught for this kind of thing or a lot of people who fall for it.

2. I get them daily too
I use to forward them to the spoof mails, but now I don't even bother.

The sober virus has given me a welcome change. Now I have 200 different looking e-mails to delete each day. LOL!

4. I've been getting a lot
of mail with attachments. The message says things like here's your password information or here's the information you requested. I'm sure their are people who will open these things too. The spam guard is finally starting to pick them up or they ran out of free email addresses!

10. Yes, that's them
None for the past few days now though. I emptied the spam folder and deleted folder. Only on the msn account did I get them though the others are ok so far. I should just get rid of the damned account but it was my first address over ten yrs ago now and I still hang onto it.

5. I got one the other day
telling me to update my account info. They look really official, but I never pay attention to them. One said that I've added a new screen name to my account and to log in to update my info.

Cheeky bastards, ain't they?

9. I'm a health care professional . . .
. . . and last week I got one, personally addressed to me and discussing my profession, asking me to participate in a joint venture involving investing millions of foreign dollars into a health resort. The writer wanted me to start researching properties in the states. A totally new twist on the Nigerian scam.

13. Anyone gotten the Yassir Arafat scam?
Essentially the Nigerian scam, but using Arafat's hidden monies (or belief in them) as bait.

Personalize the spam and it'll be much more plausible. They just keep getting more and more inventive don't they? :eyes:

12. I am on a Mac and very few Spam programs exist for Macs, but here is
one I use and it does work and is very inexpensive. I just report the really bad ones to their ISP's.
