a Poem, from Judge Roy Moore...(no shit)
my mom, god bless her, just sent me this, as if i needed it.

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama.

If you recall, Judge Moore was recently sued by the ACLU for
displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been
stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to
practice law in Alabama.

America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges
who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.

~Judge Roy Moore

Abortions have been around since the beginning of time, even before the bible was writ.

Also, he needs to take his own advice and be humble.

Third, what a stupid, fucking moron.

That's why we had 9/11, after all, I thought.

Remember Falwell and Robertson said it happened because of our godlessness.

7. you realize, of course, that when the decline (or crash) begins...

that is, when they succeed in causing, or at least hastening it... they will blame it on us.

But, America the Beautiful,
if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.

they'll blame *that* on us, without any reason needed, other than that we did not kneel to their god. i have no doubt in my mind. none. lots of people like to talk about the rises of dictators or oppressive regimes in the past, and compare it to the bush administration now. but they're not quite right. we're not there yet. wait till things get truly bad here. that's when you'll see just how "godly" the godly can be.

8. He got 2 lines right!
"We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core."

And when he'd made a mess of things
You gave the fool four more.

Man, that was too easy.

I'm also impressed with how ugly his world is. I'm glad I don't inhabit the same one.

12. If Judge Roy thinks things are bad now he should have lived
back in the days of the pilgrims and the founding fathers--things were much worse then. Abortion is nothing new--except now it is safe and legal. Public drunkeness and drug abuse were much more common then than now. Conditions were so bad in major cities that disease was rampant and people died at relatively young ages. Oh yes, a significant percentage of Americans were held bondage in the reprehensible institution of slavery--something a great many "Christians" of the time supported as "God's will" because they were "looking out" for the welfare of the black man. But something tells me that would be just fine with Judge Roy.

17. What's your source for this?
I'd like to make sure this is legit and when it was written because we here in AL are pretty sure Moore is going to run for Governor in 2006 and I'd like to have this as ammunition to send in to a newspaper asking (as another person did), "Why Roy Moore hates America and Democracy?"

If Moore runs it will probably be him against our Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley (D) because our current Gov. Riley (r) has been far too moderate for the party to beat Moore in the primaries. It's going to be a war down here if Moore gets the (r) nomination. We are going to need as much help as possible to defeat this un-American tyrant. If we can get a very strong turn out and truly paint him as the terrorist that he is, we can quite possibly defeat him.

Of course, there is always the primary here. We could waste all the Dems. votes to make sure he was defeated, but almost guarantee Riley (or another rethug) a victory. I'd rather take on Moore head-on.

I will say that I was working as a volunteer (on a daily basis) in the office of the state D party when he was elected Chief Justice of the AL Supreme Ct. and he won very easily. He also got out a lot of ppl. who voted straight down ticket which was very, very bad for the party. We lost almost every single race. A lot of water under the bridge since then though so, I'm not sure if he would be as strong across the board (rethug board) as he was at that time. He had just made the courtroom stand for the Ten Commandments back then. Although, I think I remember a survey not long ago of a state-wide poll that shows that he wins the vote of most rethugs.

It's going to be a tough call on how to play this one down our way and I truly hope the National Dem Party doesn't ignore us like they usually do. I'm hoping Dean will not let that happen.

19. Where is the
American Poetry Prevention Society when you need them? Why aren't they doing their job?

This "poetry" thing has gotten completely out of hand. One isn't safe anywhere, anymore.

How did this get to be permissible behavior? And one shudders to think what's next -- "love poems" from awol to pickles perhaps?

Clearly, the deluge is at hand. Reprint!
