22. The Rapture crazies are all for this
The destruction of Damascus is "the next big event" on their prophetic calendar. It gets destroyed before Jesus comes again.

They think that Bush is how God is going to destroy Damascus. They're all for it.

4. All you have to do is "accidentally" lob a few missiles over the border.
They'll get the message. Besides, they can blame it on "insurgents."

Syrian.

8. Funny, from what NPR said, I thought they were already over the
border.

Then again, it would be a nice cover for movement toward Iran, wouldn't it.

9. It's easier to fight over there
...then in the center of the country. Give the "embedded" journalists a taste of conventional conflict where the American forces can dominate the empty landscape.

10. If Iraq = Vietnam...Then Syria = Cambodia
Natural progression of the war. The neocons are convinced there are WMDs in the Bekaa Valley.

13. Bekaa Valley?!
That's in Lebanon -- are they on our to-do list as well?! Sheesh, that list keeps growing! No wonder we were so eager to see Syria leave -- less competition when we go in!

11. Talk about pushin' the dang envelope!!!
That's being awfully provocative, isn't it?

"bring it on",...is that what they're trying to do: incite somethin'?

They are also launching attacks in western Iraq and we all know who's over there.

Iran or Syria. Syria or Iran. Ya' think they'll just toss a coin? After all, they were willing to set up what basically amounted to a gambling site on some such crazy stuff. I swear they are outta' their minds.

15. Pretty damn convenient. However, there isn't any oil in Syria,
so I doubt they will waste their time or their bullets.
