"LICENSE PLATE SALE" to buy troops' ARMOR??? HELLO AMERICA.
The Oklahoma House of Representatives recently passed legislation to create "Patriot Plates," special license plates which help buy body armor for Oklahoma troops sent to Iraq.

For every $35 plate purchased, the state will donate twenty bucks to a special fund to buy bulletproof vests and other pieces of armor to keep soldiers safe.

The legislation was proposed by State Rep. Ryan Kiesel, who said he got the idea after meeting with soldiers from his district. "They were being sent to Afghanistan or Iraq with no body armor or Vietnam-era body armor."

Afghanistan is into the FITH YEAR.

Iraq is into the THIRD YEAR.

WAKE the F*CK UP ALREADY, AMERICANS. If we're now going to send our fellow Americans into illegal immoral wars of aggression a la Hitler, can we AT LEAST EQUIP THEM FIRST???

1. Lynn I agree
Its time that the military might people put there money where the mouth is . If you want war at least donate part of your check for the armor . Hey I do my part I give ten dollars a week to purple heart veterans its not much but than I am on SSDI. And I am against this war from the start
Now is it too much to ask the bozos who wanted this war to step up and do something? Is it too much to ask Arnold or Coulter to donate their hummers? Cmon on all your chimp supporters put up or shut up.
Either finicially support the troops or enlist all ready.
__ Lynnthedem great post.

7. It happened to the Germans, and we wondered how they could have
let it happen. And now they're wondering about us.

GITMO, people! AMERICA has an OFFICIAL CONCENTRATION CAMP. One that's being turned into a DEATH CAMP.

AMERICA is DETAINING people INDEFINITELY with NO CHARGES, NO TRIALS, NO LEGAL REPRESENTATION.

AMERICA is waging ILLEGAL wars of aggression; what the Nuremburg Tribunal deemed "the supreme crime".

AMERICA is sending people to other nations to be TORTURED.

AMERICA is TORTURING world citizens who have never been charged with anything.

WAKE UP, AMERICA! YOU are the monster now.

3. I think this now qualifies as TRIPLE taxation for Okies
First the government takes our money in income taxes and disburses it as general revenue to its many (MANY) departments, including the Pentagon, which is responsible for equipping our soldiers properly.

Then they take the extra part of our FICA contributions (also known as Social Security Surplus) and disburse THAT as general revenue to its many (MANY) departments, including the Pentagon, which is responsible for equipping our soldiers properly.

THEN the red State of OK, seeing a problem and preying on its chickenhawk-minded residents, offers this license plate for $35 a shot to help properly equip ITS soldiers.

I have no doubt it will sell like hotcakes.

6. This is wonderfully subversive. Ask the public to SUPPORT the troops
We already send care packages of personal essentials, why not raise money body armor?

We could have raffles to pay for prosthetics.

To finance PTSD treatment and research into Gulf War Syndrome, pass the plate around a second time in church. And a third time. And a fourth time.

And again and again until they begin to figure it out.

8. wtf is wrong with us???
Were fucking cool with having a job typically (and i think its ok) done by prisoners, to buy our troops fucking armor?????? But Halliburton and Bechtel employees are getting bonuses.

Well, isnt Oklahoma just supporting the hell out of their troops. This makes me sick to my stomach. My parents live there and my sister just had a baby so i was there for a month, i told them no matter how much i love them, i will never step foot in the pos state again. I will fly em all out to vegas.

kill me, i dont even feel like i am in reality.

9. I think I'm going to be sick...
Y'know I have an old (very old) peace button that says: "It will be a great day when the schools have everything they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber." But not like this -- not like this.

This * administration is evil. Flat-out evil. The times we are living through will be remembered as the worst in US history.

11. That $72,000,000.00 bonus Halliburton received.
It would buy high quality body armor at $900 per unit for 80,000 troops on the ground in Iraq.
