O'Reilly steps on it again. |
|
Last night he was railing about a New York judge who found a way around one of the more asinine provisions of the "Real ID Act". O'Reilly, demonstrating a total ignorance of the workings of state government, said that Bush should call Senators Schumer and Clinton into his office and threaten them with loss of federal highway funds for the state, unless they straightened out the judge. I sent him the following:
Dear Bill, I'm surprised that such a learned correspondent as yourself (after all, you won a Polk .. or a Peabody ... or was it a Pillsbury Bake-Off award), could be so completely uninformed as to the machinations of state government. Senators Schumer and Clinton are federal employees. It is the executive branch of the state government to whom any concerns would properly be communicated. Of course, Senators Clinton and Schumer are Democrats, George Pataki is a Republican, and you work for Fox. Never mind, I think I've got it figured out. Sincerely,
