1. Chances are I'll be there, but
I just wish groups other than ANSWER were leading efforts like this.

That said, I think we need to start building up grassroots activist groups now and linking up with local, regional, and national coalitions in preparation for this demonstration.

I think these groups need to start identifying specific objectives and actions they will take before and, in particular, after the demonstration that are related to the anti-war and social justice movements.

In other words, I would like to see us set up a framework now that would give individuals and groups a way to take clear, coordinated action aimed at real change after the rally, rather than looking to a march and a day of speechifying as a way to make a difference.

2. I have to agree with you on that. We need to focus our message on Iraq now
in order to engage even more citizens. The momentum is on our side now, diluting its power is a terrible mistake.

Strong demonstrations against the Iraq occupation will have an enormous ripple effect.

5. Iraq is yesterday's news. Go East, Iran beckons.
Think of the terra panic and the oil price spike. Glorious!

3. I agree
However we have to start somewhere. And A.N.S.W.E.R seems to have the biggest chance of drawing a crowd out there.

We must start demonstrating in the streets on a weekly basis. The direction will not come from the Democratic party, it will only come from us.

6. You got that right about the Democrats

That's why I advocate we start forming a grassroots effort with specific, clear and (dare I say) effective plans for action that people can take after the marching is over.
