The difference between Iraq and Vietnam
Our country "forgot" the soldiers after the Vietnam conflict.
Our country "forgets" the soldiers now during this conflict.

Apathy at it's best.

1. bush had a plan to get out of Vietnam . . .
an oldie, but a goodie.

note: didn't mean to diminish the very valid point you made.

3. Enlighten us. Please!
I know people treated the Vietnam vets poorly but I am not sure about forgetting the soldiers in Iraq.
The media is forgetting them or more over brushing stories about them under the other news.
But if you know of such cases, post them here. We all want to know.

5. I think reducing Veterans benefits constitutes forgetting them.
With all the men & women that will be returning from Iraq & Afghanistan damaged in some way, we should be increasing benefits.

6. Which branch of the corporate media
Shows the truth on the Iraq war?
Which one shows the caskets coming home?
Which one shows an actual count of the dead soldiers on a regular basis?
I've never seen a count of the injured.
Republicans crucified Ted Koppel for showing a tribute to the soldiers last year. Said it was politicizing. Didn't want people putting faces to these numbers, you know.

I was a child during the Vietnam war, and I remember wearing bracelets for MIA's and POW's. Now all we have are stupid "Support the troops" magnets. Gives everyone a feel good and looks really cool on the back of your SUV.

I do NOT believe that with this level of insurgency, that we do NOT have these types of prisoners. But since we aren't following the Geneva conventions, you know our enemy isn't either. They don't want us to know these little tidbits. It makes it more palatable for the sheeple to continue their shopping.
I think we do and I think that when they are killed, they lob them in with roadside killings or the like.

The general public does NOT care about the soldiers. American Idol is too important.
We have these soldiers--the ones that are able to be in one piece physically--that are shattered mentally. Some of these soldiers come home and commit crimes. There isn't enough outrage at the people responsible for creating these monsters.

I'm not going to search and find all these instances of where we have let these men and women down as a country--but we have. No doubt about it.

4. MM demonized the VN Veteran..
and glorifies the Iraq war...

many of these think they are Patriots for serving bushco and hallburton

MM is PURE propaganda..

still have MEDIA shows saying VN Veterans are sickos..despite that Gore and Kerry are both VN Vets

VN will always be used to divide the voters..
Iraq Vets don't have to face protests and further humiliation at home...

I wish we could get a HUGE protest to stop the corporat wars and support the troops by bringing em home..

VN 1969
