I save a lot of video's on data discs and will keep them with me. Plus I have the three debate's and can show them. Say, see? Look at this moron. He was running the country. Then I have a lot of election fraud video's to show as well. I also have journals I write my thoughts in about the latest happenings. Like what recently happened earlier this week in DC with the moron out bike riding.

3. I think about that quite a bit. |
|
I save articles (even from the rightwing websites) and comment on them, like we do here.
I'm saving this stuff to show my daughter, when she is old enough, what really happened.
I collect the pertinent DVDs too.
I want her to be able to discuss why the war in Iraq was an illegal, immoral, unjust and unnecessary invasion and occupation.
I want to realize how hard her mommy fought so that she would get a decent education free of Religious Right proselytizing.
Thanks for the post - good topic.

It is so smart and forward-thinking of you to put that all together for future generations. It will be a wonderful history lesson for your daughter, one based in reality and not in mythology.

I also got worried and ordered a few books I want to read to her about different families coming together, and about evolution.
I'm probably getting a little paranoid.
I found a small private school for her to go to - where there is NO Religious Right message.
I don't know about you, but I am awfully concerned about what they are sneaking into public school these days.

I think I will tell them that this is what happens when the media stops doing their jobs, when a couple of conglomerates control what news gets out to the public. And we will all say 'never again!'. And hopefully we'll mean it this time.

16. A period of severe mental illness |
|
Do you believe a country can be mentally ill? I do, and I think that's what we are experiencing. I don't have any evidence to offer but it's the only concept that makes any sense to my mind.
Our country has chosen (or allowed) a dry drunk as our representative and leader, one whose actions we don't understand. We are involved in a major war that we don't understand, and sacrificing our young and strong to it. Much of the country votes for policies that act against their own interests. The country has mortgaged away its prosperity to benefit the few, taken on decades worth of debt and sacrifices education and social safety net in exchange. The country is giving away it's treasure of natural resources to a few in exchange for personal favors. The country has focused on the short-term and abandoned its future. Diplomoacy and sharing are out, while accumulation and exercise of power and bullying rule relationships with others (i.e. abusing). No one is accountable or responsible - rather, the "blame game" is all the rage. Some trusted parental-surrogate organizations spread fear, hatred and divisiveness. Other trusted organizations repeat lies and propaganda, having given away their individuality and independence.
In short, the country is indulging in behaviors that are out of control, abusive, irresponsible, immature and self-destructive.
If we were to see an individual behaving in such a manner, we'd recognize them as being mentally ill and have them locked up for their own good and self-protection.
So that's my diagnosis - the country is mentally ill. How can we cure it?

I told them straight out that the person acting as leader of our country cheated to win the election. Whenever they hear his name they say they do not like him because it is wrong to cheat.
I will educate them more as they get older but they proudly say this where ever we may be and all on their own. I am so proud!!!!

26. Hopefully if you're having kids you're EMIGRATING |
|
and you'll explain it in the future like this:
Some Nazis, descended from a long line of Nazis, stole the elections beginning in the year 2000. The biggest of these Nazis started some wars, and he and his Nazi party started doing other Nazi-like things like abolishing civil rights for anyone the top Nazis didn't like. Well things got worse and worse until your Mommy and I decided we had to leave America, because we were already thinking of you although you weren't with us yet. We left where we were born so you could be born and grow up in a normal country where you wouldn't be driven to Nazihood yourself by the made up fears Nazis scare each other with, and where you'd be safe--we hoped--from the wars the Nazis always start in order to steal things they want from other people.

Will you need to hang your head in shame and say you did nothing or will you be able to tell them about how you fought tooth and nail against it all? It's the people who have done nothing, or have actually aided this madness, that will have most to explain but little to say.
A person's answer to what they did during these years will hang like an epitaph around their neck in years to come. What will yours say?

It was dreadful and bad kids. A Oil man from Texas named Bush and a Fat man named Karl took over the country. they stole from the poor to give to the very very very rich, they declared war for senseless reasons and sent many Americans to there graves. Are money became worthless and people became insane and crazy. There were hurricanes and floods landslides and mudslides rain in midsummer and heat waves during Christmas there were witch hunts and book burning, there were riots and panic. A massive tsunami killed thousands and the Oil man and the Fat man did nothing but let them drown. They even tried to starve old people like grandma and grandpa to death. Then the real radicals came and declared a holy war in the land but thankfully a bit of luck and grace from God came and saved the land and calmed there fears, a bolt of lighting came from the sky and struck down the oil man and the fat man and an earthquake finished off all there fellow cronies and things recovered.
Other then that kids it was great the oil man always said the funniest things. Now go back to sleep or the oil man will come get'ya.

34. The same way Germans explained Hitler to their children. |
|
We didn't know what happened at Abu-Gariab, Dachau, and Auschwitz. We didn't want to look, there were reports, we let people with bad motives summarize them for us. We liked that he said he was a Christian, it gave us confidence in his ultimate compassion. We liked morality of telling others what we don't like: gays, abortionists, and Jews--well, Islamics. We liked bringing order, democracy to other nations: Poland, France, ... Afghanistan, Iraq, ... We liked tax breaks while ignoring that we borrowed more than we saved. We loved consuming resources to the fullest while we made war and depleted to extinction what we took for granted. We loved telling dissenters that they were unpatriotic. We liked sending dissenters away so we didn't have to listen to conflict, so instead we could dance and go to plays and nightclubs hearing only what we wanted to hear. We liked media that did not bother us with disturbing ideas.
Maybe someday, some other country will come along and embarass themselves moreso than we embarassed ourselves, then we won't have to feel so bad.
