The question that BEGS to be asked is |
|
if your town is targeted for base closure, and it will be a devastating loss to you or someone you know personally--would you advocate your elected representative trading his vote for Bolton, Social Security, or the judicial confirmation?

2. So you are suggesting that the closings are actually the neocon's |
|
way of leveraging the Dems to not obstruct the Bolton/SS/JC passage?
Hmmmm....possible I suppose, but would like to see more evidence.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. It would only be a temporary respite, we see the complete dedication to purpose that is the trademark of GWB. Since January what has WH focused on: the big victory bash, mini-focus on the Tsunami-relegated to Big Dawg and Pops, Terri Schiavo, the pope's funeral, Freedom is on the MARCH in Iraq and the M.E., SSN-60 day tour, the complete focus on his judicial appointees, how many remain (10????) and the Bolton nomination. That's less than a dozen talking points, with the grimness of the world situation, the increasing difficulty of staying the course in Iraq and Afghanistan, the worsening of US economy and the increasing scandal on Republican malfeasance and influence peddling on every level of our government, that is his focus: less than a dozen talking points.

even LBJ who was no saint focused on the war, they said that he stayed up to 4:00 am reading letters from soldiers families on the war. We need more than a list of demands and a pissing match.

9. agree, but we must move out of the darkness |

since Newt Gingrich came to our capital with his contract, the focus has been on eliminating government, now we have individuals devouring it from the inside like termites, what we need is accountability for corruption on every level of government in the country. We need real leaders, who will put the needs of this country first, who will realize that America is not a bully but a member nation in a world community.
