Have you noticed that the latest rebuttal is, "there was an election..." ?
* and his administration is starting to take some hits (Bolton, memo, etc..), and the latest and greatest response is "there was an election", and "the people elected Bush".

That's all they've got, I sense desperation?

4. Yeah, that's the line I get from my repub coworkers -- I usually
just point out that because you are elected, that doesn't mean you have free rein to do whatever you please, and then point out that Nixon was elected twice too.

8. Yeah....my response is .....
we elected (maybe) a president, not a fkkking fuhrer. We have elections all the time. Does that mean we can't criticize and question our elected officials?!? Do these people want to bring back FKKKING KINGS AND QUEENS?? I think so. These are the same bastards that would have been tories in the Revolution. Is this still America?????/

10. "There was an accountability moment..."
Remember after the election, Bush gave an interview with the Washington Post. And basically he was asked if anyone in his administration should be held accountable (i.e. fired) for the fact that no weapons have been found in Iraq.

His response? He basically said "There was a moment of accountability called the 2004 elections."

What an ass.

11. "Accountability moment"---exact quote here
From the transcript of his interview w/ the Washington Post in January:

"Well, we had an accountability moment, and that's called the 2004 election. And the American people listened to different assessments made about what was taking place in Iraq, and they looked at the two candidates, and chose me, for which I'm grateful."

12. Saying "I do" at the altar doesn't give your spouse the right to abuse you
"There was an election" is an ignorant argument. It opens the door to debating the merits of the tainted election. It's also saying that the occupant of the Oval Office has carte blanche to act in any manner he damn well pleases because too many people in America couldn't see him for what he really is.

Anybody here ever gotten married and lived to regret it in a short time as you see the abuse develop and slowly escalate? That's what bush is doing to Americans. Many of us see the signs and recognize the pattern. But some people will never let go of their infantile need to continue seeing things as they want them to be, not as they truly are. They're dragging us all down into a hellhole made of their inability to face reality.

14. I still refuse to believe the election was legit
And even the majority of the fools who voted for the shrub can't possibly be satisfied with the way the country is being run.

16. no one person among those i consider my friends, family, relatives and
acquaintances voted for bush. not one of them. and i really think that if it had not been for poppy's purchased diebold machines and forjeb's sob's betrayal to the people of florida, bushie boy would not be the resident in the white house. he did not make in 2000. and he did not make it in 2004. they stole the elections both times.
