Poll question: Al Franken: In the Senate or on the air?
Al seems to be seriously entertaining a run for the Senate in his home state of Minnesota.

My personal preference is that he stay on the air since he could have a greater impact there. The left has done a crappy job of building an information infrastructure for decades and Al is an important building block (even if he is too moderate for some people like me).

I know he hates comparisons to Rush, but ask yourself this: can you name one GOP senator that has had a greater impact of our political discourse and public opinion than Rush?

It will be difficult to get things done if he gets elected and like now, the majority of the media ignores any democratic initiatives or complaints.

9. Why not? any evidence?
It's doing pretty well so far, gangbusters in the big markets it's in, and public appearances fill to the brim.

A lot of people I talk to are pretty fed up and at least open to left of center ideas, so why wouldn't they stop on the liberal side of the dial?

11. No evidence just an opinion.
I think the XM contract will hurt, and the absolutely boring lineup. I like Rachel Maddow, and Al Franken, but the rest I could do without.

3. Minnesota Would Elect Him Right?
In this liberal leaning state I believe he would win by about 10%.

I'm all for a Senator Franken. He'd be a TRUE Democrat and wouldn't kiss corporate ass.

6. In the Senate..
If, and when he gets elected he's got the savvy to get the message out. He'd be able to get on the MSM news and tell his and our views. We need someone like that. Telegenic, smart and outspoken.

8. I wouldn't mind Al in the Senate.
Air America will be fine without him. And I think AAR will be fine. I can't get through a day without it.

10. Can you think of a GOP senator with more influence than Rush?
That's the piece people are missing, and the left has missed since the 70s when the GOP figured out how important the media is.

If we don't have a strong media presence, we don't have shit.

It's that simple.

Door knocking and petition passing will be an uphill battle without it.
