Hate him, Love him....Dean Made Bush Bushing and Being A Liberal OK again |
|
I can remember the early days....
Liberal? Hey, I'm not a wimp!
'I'm a democrat, not a liberal..."
"Liberal is a dirty word."
I'm like Bush...but not quite like Bush.
"I support the President...."
And then...
People like Dean and Kucinich became involved...and then supporters flocked....
I may not agree with any of their policies 100%...but what good does it do me or the nation to support someone who appears to want to give me everything I want without going againt the RW?
ANGER IS A GIFT, need I remind you?
We're angry because we were lied to and cheated, got that?
Vote for who you will, but respect the clear-thinkers who saw through the Bushie BS.
Shall we be fooled by fools again?
Vote for those who weren't fooled by Bush.
Is that what you want on your candidate's resume?
"I'm Running for President because I gave too much power to Bush and now regret it"
????????????

Like an old fashioned revival meeting. Come on, you neo-con repenters! Step forward and be saved. Say it. After me..."I gave too much power to Bush and now regret it." That's it. Good. Say it again. Louder. Like you mean it.
There now, doesn't that feel better?

Personally, I'm nauseated how so many have allowed the word "liberal" to be besmirched to such a degree that many--even here--deny any taint of it as if it's a disease. There are a few reasonable stances to take politically, but liberalism is a good one. Allowing the enemy to demonize what many of us are is self-destructive. Even the moderates and progressives (whatever in hell that means, other than "I'm not a liberal, I'm really not!") should rise to not let "liberal" be a demonization.
It's sort of like some of the Clark support: I'm a...NEW Democrat...yeah, that's the ticket, new democrat, freshly minted, as of last week.
Dean is not a liberal. Mercifully, he hasn't painted himself as one, although he's carefully glided by and accepted their acceptance without really setting them straight.
It would be nice to have one of the candidates look right down the barrel of the lens and say "I'm a liberal", but I'm not holding my breath.
I AM a liberal, and proudly identify myself as such to people; it's amazing to see the response sometimes.
