Just think what the response would be if.... |
|
some citizen from Iraq or Iran was flushing a copy of the Bible down a toilet.

4. I asked that very question of a fundi |
|
The response was predictable at best: Forgive the idiot, he knows not how to write in paragraphs: <> I would feel sad - mostly for them. My salvation does not depend on whether I have the Bible in my possession and I am certainly not going to kill someone for their ignorance, nor will I riot in the streets or blow myself up. Jesus said that His followers could most certainly expect persecution for the world persecuted Him first. But nowhere does Jesus order His disciples to behead or riot or kill when insulted or persecuted. That is why the Inquisition and Crusades were so wrong and what radical Muslims are doing today is just as wrong. What's worse is that THIS story is based on unproven allegations from "unnamed sources", a lot like the phony stories that brought down Dan Rather. Even if true, this was irresponsible journalism as Newsweek should have anticipated such a story would inflame irrational people, which it did. Your last line at the bottom of this page implies that Bush ordered our soldiers to flush a Koran down the toilet. That is like saying it is the fault of the State of Ohio when a drunk driver kills someone in traffic (which, by the way, occurs FAR more frequently than the death of any American service person in Iraq) because Ohio issued the driver his/her driver's license. Ridiculous. I'll be a lot more concerned about American abuses when the terrorists start playing by the so-called Geneva rules and they stop beheading innocents and blowing up civilians- like that will happen anytime soon. You are so quick to point out American abuses and mistakes under Bush but say NOTHING of the beheadings and abuses that go on by the terrorists- but I guess that's okay - after all, some misguided soldier placed a Koran on a toilet. And please - think about it- a stupid Newsweek magazine won't even flush down a toilet, much less a Koran ! <> He always throws some tidbit about an off the wall topic in these responses as well. I have come to laugh at the responses and even prod them some times. Asked him why he was so upset that there was no organized prayer in schools, he hasn't responded to that yet.

They rationalize every thing in such idiotic methods. You can't communicate with them, the Kool-Aid has effected them.

The writing styles are so similar. Hmmm.
Yes - they find the oddest ways to rationalize things that * does. It's amazing.

11. I have a theory on the writing style |
|
They all have to contact an agent to make sure they get the talking points correct. I say they are getting these answerers from some one because they are so predictable and you can get nearly the same response from multiple fundies.
Maybe one of the televangelist or FAUX bigots are their contact.

I read quite a few posts on DU and can't really find two people with styles that are similar. I can read FR or some message boards like that and the writing styles and content are so similar that they could have been written by the same person!

5. Let's make the scenario more accurate |

Imagine what the response would be if some citizen from Iraq was illegally holding American prisoners out in no man's land where he was degrading & torturing them and one element of the psychological torture was to take probably the only thing that prisoner had, something so holy to him that his religion doesn't even allow him to touch it unless his hands have been properly cleansed, and plunged it into the nasty shit bucket in his cramped cell.
I shudder to even think what the American response would be.
