Extra! Extra! NYT Prints Real News on Monday, May 16, 2005! |
|
There was actual journalism committed today as the New York Times interrupted its wall-to-wall coverage of White House and GOP press releases to do some on the ground reporting. A front page article on Secretary of Stae Rice's trip to Iraq included specifics and allowed much reading between the lines, while a special report on class in America continued with health coverage differences in the nation. The Op-Ed section included the steelar Paul Krugman, a pointed article by Arlen Spector, and others. Even the business section had real news.
Wonder what comes out Tuesday?

Makes me wonder if all this saber rattling done by bushco may well push us into the next big one. Iran has little to lose if we are going to attack them anyway. If we attack Iran with a draftee military the I fear the results on many levels. What scares me most about the funddies is that they can make Armageddon happen.

5. Perhaps they figured out they were being played off against their |

own readership and were suffering for it. Why Karl Rove wants to destroy SS and all other connections Americans have to empathy. Why wouldn't isolating CNN & the New York Times and 'starving' them be on the agenda. That is what they want to do the SS (starve the middle class by making them pay for the all the social programs...thus splitting the middle class into the have-not-so-muches and the middle and upper classes who carry and increasing tax burden but with fewer results).
Rove starves all his enemies. He tries to break bonds between people. He is your typical political operative with the toolbag of a sociopath.
Hell - if the NYTimes wrote incredible articles.. I'd pay a few dollars a month to read them on-line.

7. I know - I had heard that. Personally, I don't want to see the NYTimes |

tank or become very poor as news organizations go. I have the money (sort of). I would pay to keep them 'alive'. If that is the choice..what choice is it?
You think those brilliant minds (and somewhat silent these days)don't cost?
They cost!
I wish there was a way to get the articles to people who cannot afford the newspaper. But I guess I get by on reading a few paragraphs at times.
Not a perfect world is it?
I hope this means they got their teeth back!
