Anybody else impressed that Galloway was allowed to
Edited on Wed May-18-05 07:59 PM by The_Casual_Observer
pretty much have a free forum to say whatever he wanted for the record without any interruption, about 20 minutes worth, when it was only supposed to be 10? For a much as I despise coleman, I have to give him that.

1. Only so the news outlets that did cover it could find innocuous crap
that they could put up without ever broaching the actual context of his statements.

PBS Newshour this evening was shameful.

5. Guess you hit the jackpot with NBC, PBS was shockingly bad
Oh, and Norm? I'd be happy to sell him to you and he can represent your state - just don't expect him to come cheap - he has folks standing in line to buy him - oh, and don;t expect him to be able to offer any rebuttal, I think that is why the testimony went on. He doesn't have the brain power to shut it down.

But Galloway told Associated Press Television News that Coleman is a (quote) "lick-spittle, crazed neocon." He says Coleman is in a witch hunt against anyone who he believes has betrayed the United States in its plan to invade Iraq.

4. I certainly agree about News Hour. That was a
selected segment shown and did not get to the real meat. Pitiful coverage. Have the RWs already taken over?

3. I think poor Norm was just too stunned to move
The last time I'd seen an expression like the one Coleman had on his face was when Andrew Card whispered into Bush's ear at a school in Florida.

6. Probably the single stupidest political move I've seen in my lifetime.
Not that I didn't enjoy the hell out of it.

7. Caught off guard, and they knew absolutely nothing about the man Galloway
Edited on Wed May-18-05 09:04 PM by demo dutch
Otherwise they wouldn't have let him. There was no stopping the guy once he started. Coleman had no choice but to let him speak, but then canceled the meeting as soon as he could. Clearly shows how badly Coleman handled his investigation, didn't even do his homework on Galloway, otherwise Coleman would have known. The guy is a known maverick in the UK! Coleman is a typical example of how cocky the "new" repug politicans are!

8. There was a great article in our local newspaper
Mr Galloway came out as assertive and indignant. I just read the article, haven't seen any tv, but he did get out some great zingers. I wonder if they just didn't have a choice? He seem to incorporate his opinions with his replies...
