Senate debate on Nuclear Option... |
|
How long will this drudgery go on? When is it supposed to end?

it'd be nice if they'd just get on with it. I suspect each of them knows what he or she is going to do already.

It's clearly obvious. So why bother?

It's clear that there are Republicans that are uncomfortable with the Nuclear option - they are working (with some Democrats) to derail this into some sort of compromise. I don't like their odds, but I'm fine with giving them some time to try. Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

5. if they know it's wrong, |
|
and I too am sure some of them do, they should vote against it. No need for compromise; wrong is wrong.

6. Well they are politicians. |
|
I mean to expect a politician to vote his conciouse without considerint the consequences is like expecting a dog to start using the toilet in the proper fashion. It'd be nice, but i wouldn't bank on it.

12. No Need to Rush the Destruction of Our Republic |
|
Besides, Senator Kennedy just gave the best speech I ever heard him deliver. (Too bad that only CSPAN viewers will ever see or hear any of it).
If the nuclear option goes through, our republic is dead. This is the Rubicon.

3. I want to know why the President designee was smirking |
|
and laughing as Frist was wrapping up last night! Anyone else notice that? Frist rattled of each of his "submit for unanimous consent" bills, motions, etc. and the Senator heading the proceedings looked like he was about ready to roll out of his chair and onto the floor. Then, right after he banged the gavel to close the proceedings for the day, he looked at the woman in front and just to the right of him and gave a thumbs up with a great big smile. WTF was that???

8. Am not positive, but I think |
|
that one of those bills was a Dem introduced bill, entitled something to the effect, a "resolution to raise the minimum wage," therefore striking that guy with ironical giggles.
I had heard that the Dems will not shut down the Senate if they lose the debate on the filibuster, but will introduce many bills for the betterment of education, wages, labor, etc etc...showing the public that the Dems are the party of the working class, and the party of caring. Maybe those resolutions were some of the attempts by the Dems, and Frist and that guy thought it was amusing?
