*'s mindset prior to the war....
We have the memo which seems to be making its way into the MSM at last.

But remember the report of his comment to a group of senators and Condi? He poked his head into a meeting and said something like "Saddam's going down." This was well before the invasion.

The two stories support each other and show that he was determined to take out Saddam. The PDR should have read "Booosh determined to strick inside Iraq."

1. Was he skipping down the hallway
when he stopped to poke his head in. Then he probably ran to the vending machine for sour patch kids and a sprite. Then if he's lucky, Cheney will let him out for a bike ride.

2. I believe the comment was made well before 9/11.
The world now knows what it actually means to have "let the Genie out of the bottle"

4. Those comments were made publicly at least as early as 1999.
For example, http://www.counterpunch.org/leopold01172003.html

"Gov. George W. Bush of Texas talks about contingencies in which he would use American military power to ''take out'' Iraq's illegal weapons" if elected president, according to a Dec. 12, 1999 editorial in the New York Times. The Times editorial was headlined Rhetoric and Reality on Iraq and it too presumed that Iraq still had weapons of mass destruction but the editorial offered no evidence."

5. I must be getting old...
I can't remember the details. But hey, it sure makes sense that it was before 9/11. What stuck in my brain is one senator's shocked reaction to Commander Cuckoobananas cavalier attitude.
